Established in 2001, Cougar Crest Estate Winery is located in the Walla Walla Valley of Washington State. Walla Walla Valley is recognized as the premier place to grow grapes in Washington, and Cougar Crest is one of the finest wineries in the region. The agency that regulates Washington wineries considers estate vineyards so important they have a legal definition that must be strictly adhered to, in order to use the term "Estate".

Their goal and ours is to make sure that Cougar Crest is the steward of the land and of the winery. Cougar Hills is located a stone's throw from the site of the original Seven Hills Vineyard planted in the 1970's that began the Walla Walla legacy of quality vineyards. Noble Rock is located in The Rocks District of Milton-Freewater AVA.
Services
COUGAR CREST ESTATE WINERY was established at the Walla Walla airport in 2001 by Deborah and David Hansen. Natives of the Northwest, Deborah from Spokane and David from Bremerton, they met in Pullman. After graduating from Washington State University in the 1970's, Deborah in Pharmacy and David in Veterinary Medicine, their careers led them to the San Francisco area for 18 years.
To print the shelf talkers, we use perforated paper. Make sure you sign-up for our wine club to get special discounts on all online purchases, and also purchases made in any of our three tasting rooms. Current Wine Club Members, if you have any updates that need to be made to your account please call the winery at 509-529-5980.
Cougar Crest Estate Winery is proud of our ongoing philanthropic efforts, and we are pleased to support a variety of charitable organizations, with particular emphasis on Doernbecker Children's Hospital in Portland, OR and The Alzheimer's Foundation. We offer other organizations a 50% discount off the retail price of the wine if your cause is chosen for a donation.
Cougar Hills Vineyard is a stone's throw from the site of the original Seven Hills Vineyard planted more than 30 years ago, that began the Walla Walla legacy of quality vineyards. Tucked into the southwest corner of the Walla Walla AVA, as the name implies, there is a hill at Cougar Hills. The elevation averages 800 feet at the base and rises to 845 at the top of the hill.
Noble Rock Vineyard is located four miles east and slightly north of Cougar Hills Vineyard. The land here is relative flat and occupies five acres. Being closer to the Blue Mountains this vineyard would be expected to get more rainfall than Cougar Hills, but this is not the case. The elevation is slightly higher than Cougar Hills, which is expected because the further west you go, you eventually end up at sea level.

Good wine, and great customer service during these trying times. They have easy to understand signs about how to pick up wine during this pandemic.

Outstanding experience. It was my first wine tasting and my wife has been to plenty. Able to bring the kids and they colored while we drank wine.

Phenomenal wine! All the vintages have won awards at multiple national and international wine competitions. Super friendly staff, and Dave and Debbie, the owners and winemakers, offer personal tours of the whole facility if you can catch them when they have time at the end of the day! Beautiful tasting room that sells Cougar Gold Cheese and tampenade, cheese plates for order, a shaded patio perfect for picnics, and art on display for sale. Great spot only 5-10 minutes west from downtown Walla Walla on the main highway!

Good wines! But the tasting room attendant was way to talkative! Enjoyed the wine but were glad to leave... sometimes it's okay to have a moment mom silence as I savor a fine wine.

We stopped in after walking around Walla Walla and we are glad that we did. The service we got from Sean the Manager was amazing. Very friendly and helpful. We will stop in again next time we come back to Washington.
