Bruce Kaplan apprenticed the art of tattooing with Bruce Bart in Tannersville, New York, at the start of 1988 and has been tattooing professionally since 1989. He has owned Lark Tattoo since its opening in Albany, NY in 1993 and in Westbury, NY in 2000. The art and permanence of tattooing has always been magical to Bruce.
Tattooing since 2001, Matt C. Ellis has become well-known for his vivid use of color and attention to detail in a variety of styles including Japanese, traditional, and realism. He especially enjoys doing large-scale tattoos and is passionate about his artwork. Matt consistently strives to push the boundaries of tattooing so that he may bring his clients' ideas to life.
Lance Elliot Levine was brought up immersed in the arts and has been passionate about creating beauty throughout his life. Lance began tattooing 2008, and he specializes in black and gray realism. Lance brings close attention to detail while achieving a high contrast, yet soft look to his work. Lance makes every effort to make sure that his clients get a high quality piece of art that they will love for a lifetime.
Simone Lubrani started his tattoo journey in the summer of 1998, in the picturesque seaside city of Viareggio, Italy, known for its Carnival. However, Simone's love of tattoos started much earlier in his life. At the of sixteen, while on vacation in Los Angeles, he fell in love with the colorful tattoos he saw adorning the skin of the members of California's gritty music scene.

Kailee Love-yes, that's her real name-started tattooing in 2009. While she now calls Bay Shore home, she was born in Nevada and even briefly lived in Germany as a child.

I love Lark! I just got my second tattoo there with Pee-Wee!! The entire staff is welcoming, the space is clean and the artist took his time to help me create the perfect design. I've had multiple surgeries over the years and my abdomen is covered in scars and what I see in the mirror everyday. It's a constant reminder of pain. I knew when the time was right I would get a beautiful tattoo in that area. Well I was so emotional and in happy tears. I have the most beautiful tattoo! All I see when I look in the mirror now is "The Best Is Yet To Come". Amazing how a tattoo change your entire outlook

I was very nervous when I decided to get my first tattoo. I didn’t know where to start and booked Lark because they have been ranked the best tattoo parlor on LI for the last several years. The shop’s space is pristine, uniquely inviting and truly beautiful. From the moment I walked in, I felt surrounded by creativity, and was warmly welcomed. Hannah was the artist who created my tattoo and I could not be happier or more impressed with what she did for me. She is insanely talented. If it is your first tattoo or you are completely covered and need to find space or erase the mistakes of others there is only one shop you need, Lark Tattoo. Bruce and his amazing staff provide the expertise and consultative approach that make you realize you found the right artist and shop as soon as you arrive. Cleanliness is next to godliness and that is so true at Lark. They have not won best tattoo shop on Long Island for consecutive years 7 and counting for no reason. Stop reading this review and call the shop because great talented artists schedules fill up fast.

Absolutely love Lark Tattoo! Came in to get my labret, and my piercer Dana was amazing. The establishment was clean, friendly, and safe. Dana was super friendly, swift, and perfect. She was informative with aftercare and talking me through the process. I will most definitely be coming back for more piercings in the future.

Got my Tragus done by Dana, absolutely love it. She talked me through everything and really listened to me and made me feel comfortable. She's extremely knowledgeable in anatomy and is extremely approachable. When I asked her about the difference between a tragus and surface tragus she explained it to me and why the surface may not work for me due to having tight skin. I appreciate that she actually cared about my well being and wanted to make sure I had all the information I needed before making a decision. So excited to go back for my tattoo there, highly recommend them!

I got my industrial pierced by Dana last week. She was so nice and ver knowledgeable. My daith had this huge ring and wasn't healing, from another piercer. She saw it and immediately asked if she could put a smaller ring. It has felt so much better since she switched rings... She did a great job with my industrial. Its still swollen as seen in the photo but thats normal. Whatever I want done next, I will definitely be going to Dana.

I’ve been a customer for years, but recently had the absolute pleasure of getting new piercings with Dana! She was so fun AND professional! I had an older piercing that wasn’t healing as well as my others (done by a different piercer) and she switched out the jewelry which has made such a difference. I am obsessed with my new piercings that she did! I will be back as soon as I’m healed up for more! I had such a great time being pierced by her!

I wanted to leave a review for my piercer, Dana, who did an amazing job. not only did she give me the best septum piercing i've had yet (this was my 4th and there was no pain the day after, when usually it feels like i broke my nose) but she also noticed that my nose piercing was infected and worked with me to figure out the best metal possible as well as the right kind of piercing to put in it, which i really appreciated as she didn't have to do that and could easily have just done the septum. she listened to all my concerns and never dismissed me, i was so grateful. my nose piercing

I read countless reviews about Lark Tattoo before going in there and looked at all the photos of their work and I had the most amazing experience there. The shop itself is extremely clean, everything is nicely laid out. The entire staff are all very friendly and professional. I opted to go with Bruce for two separate pieces, I was so incredibly impressed with him, he really takes pride in his work, spent a lot of time going through the design and really listened to what it is I was looking for in my tattoo.

I have gotten four piercings done here by the piercer Matt, they all healed nicely and none of them have gotten infected. Matt is always so wonderful and informative, and answers questions with great detail and clarity. He is always very clean and thorough with disinfecting the area and using new and sterile tools and jewelry. I will definitely be back for future piercings!

I came to Lark Tattoo for a septum piercing and had a great experience. When booking my appointment over the phone, I was able to speak with the piercer, Matt, about the jewelry available and the prices. They took a $20 deposit over the phone and sent me an email and text reminding me of my upcoming appointment. When I arrived, they took my temperature and I felt very safe in the studio. This place is a rip-off. I paid way too much for my piercings and the piercer glossed over aftercare, didn't tell me that I would be charged for infection treatment. For aftercare, he advised me to take hot showers and scrub the piercing with my fingers to invite circulation. What?

Very clean and beautiful atmosphere but staff is not kind. When working with the piercer specifically he got very aggressive and told me "go home and get out of my chair" I was having difficulty with him taking out my very infected piercing and asked him to stop for a moment where he lost his patience. Went here yesterday after making an appt for my 11 year old daughter to get her ears pierced. It was her second piercing on her ear lobes. Matt Cohen was so awesome. She was freaking out a bit and he was so patient and easy to talk to. He took his time answering all of our questions and didn't rush us out of there. I would definitely recommend.

I received two cartilage piercings at my visit. Matt can be quite rude. I suppose it depends on how sensitive you are, but I don't expect someone I just met to talk that way to me. Especially not when I'm a customer. He does a good job. They're also pricey. I've had the same job done just as well at a nearby parlor for $20 cheaper. They were closed which is why I came here.

The piercer (Matt) has horrible customer service skills. I went in to get 2 of my earrings changed because I couldn't get them out myself. He told me my piercings were "garbage" and wanted to re-pierce them himself. I wasn't prepared or expecting to get my ears re-pierced so when I had trouble deciding what to do, he got very frustrated with me and rushed me out the door. You'd think that someone in this profession would be much more understanding and calm. On top of the horrible experience, I was charged $20 just to have my earrings removed.

I got my first nostril piercing today at Lark I got the needle method (not going to lie it was painful I had tears streaming down my face but I was able to handle it) everyone was so nice and kind (the piercer ended up wiping some of my tears off my face) he used a new needle straight out of the package, he cleaned my nose thoroughly 3 times. It's 11pm now and I got the piercing around 6 or 7 pm the piercing doesn't hurt now just a little numb. The only thing I didn't really like was the price I got surgical steel which was around $80 and it was the cheapest option, my total came
