FEDVIP patients can choose VSP during Open Season and enjoy comprehensive vision benefits. People with diabetes are more likely to develop blinding eye diseases, such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and cataracts. Yet recent studies have revealed low awareness of the issue among ethnicities at higher risk for diabetes.
With the findings signaling that many Americans may not be defending themselves against diabetes-related vision loss, the American Academy of Ophthalmology encourages those with diabetes to take proactive steps to protect their vision. You may not know this, but a comprehensive eye health exam can detect diseases like Glaucoma and Diabetes, that not only affect your eyes but overall health.

I am new to Alaska and did not have an eye doctor established. I had a large black new floater and white flashes in my eye. Paul Homan kindly assisted me with am emergency number if I needed it, and otherwise suggested I call right away the following morning. The staff immediately got me in even though I was new and had no insurance.

I'm Dr. Paul Newsom. I had my first eye exam today, 01/31/2022, at Wolfeye Center. All, I mean ALL, of the personnel at Wolf's were excellent. outstanding among them was Kevin, an Op Tech, and Chantel, who assisted me with the ordering of frames...both very personable as they went about their given tasks...and, clearly experienced. My Doctor was excellent, as were his assistants...friendly, courteous, and above all, knowledgeable each in their duties. I plan to invite all my friends and acquaintances to visit Wolf's for their next eye exam.

I wish I had got the surgery done years ago, I Was told during my exam that I have cataracts this I z as already knew the options were given to me.
My wife pushed me into cataract surgery I was going to get the trifocal lens but after further test and exams Dr. Wolf informed me that I am not eligible for the best lens that I should get the base lens. I was upset about it and feared I would have to wear glasses still.
But to my surprise I have 20R 20L and 20 with Both eyes.
Believe it or not I just wrote all of this on my iPhone without magnification. YAHOOOO
Please trust Wolf Eye Care and there

Really love my glasses and the prescription is spot-on. Julie is very wonderful and Dr. Thornton cares. They made things right when I had an issue. I felt that my eye exam wasn't correct (as the prescription was reduced) and Julie at Wolf Eye Center was very understanding and made me a complimentary appointment where I was given a new complete eye exam (and saw Dr. Thornton again). This time the prescription was increased. Things are so clear that I'm even able to read the tiny car dealer emblems on the backs of vehicles. My passengers aren't able to and are amazed.

The doctor and optician were fine. The facility is spacious and modern. Whoever hand writes the prescriptions needs to be sent back to school. Total lack of attention to detail. Inconvenient for me because now when I attempt to get these prescriptions filled, the vendor can't read the base curve. I have concerns. Is the base curve an 8.5 or an 8.4, we will never know.
*Update*
Wolf Eye Care mailed new, legible prescriptions to my address in response to the original review. The two star review stands however because a phone call could've resolved this problem. My phone call for assistance did

If you want an eye physician that focuses on your eye care, go elsewhere. If you want an eye physician that thinks they have the knowledge to diagnose you with having to wear a mask upon an entry, this is your place. This place will surely violate your HIPPA rights, or at least make it known to everyone around that you have an issue by making you and/or your loved ones leave the building to sit in the car while they go out to your car. Or, maybe you just don't like Tyranny. Wolf USED to be awesome. Not any more. They clearly are not educated in the lack of protection a mask possess.

Amazing!Dr. Wolf and team are competent, helpful, efficient and caring in a friendly, good-natured environment. As the years passed after a cataract removal and lens implants, I wondered if I was resigned to reduced clarity and decreased night vision. But a quick and incredibly helpful laser surgery restored my sight to astounding levels. Wow! Thank you Dr. Wolf.

It was such such a pleasure getting my eyes examined at WolfEye center today! The folks have a streamlined process, no wait time! A very efficient man named Ron helped me with my pre exam, and Dr. Anderson came in quickly after and completed the examination. He had a marvelous “bedside” manner! His assistant Laura was lovely and helpful, as well! Great team and great experience. I will return!

First I want to clarify that this one star review refers to the eye glass selling operation attached to Wolf Eye Center. Dr. Evens and Dr. Wolf are both excellent eye doctors.
My five year old granddaughter was so excited to pick out her first pair of glasses and they would be pink. The day they came was devastating for her. The glasses were sized for an adult ( they fit me perfectly). They were so large that if one earpiece was on the other was off. When her parents went to return them as surely this was a mistake the clerk said that it was their own fault for asking for those pink glasses. To

I had cataract surgery on both of my eyes last week. The surgery was performed by Dr. Wolf and he did an amazing job! Getting surgery on my eyes was a little terrifying but he made it okay! Have been waiting over a month for my 2 year old daughters glasses, who had bilateral cataracts at birth, so has no lenses in her eyes. I was initially told it would be 7-14 days. I called at 2 weeks, no glasses, and not only that it took 10 minutes on hold for them to find out where the glasses were. Was told it was going to take another week. Called again in a week, told it was going to be yet another week, that they would ship out that Friday, and be here Monday. Well, now it's that Monday and was just told they did not ship out like they should have and that it would be almost another

Thank you for confirming that your technician performs part of the eye exam that a doctor should perform (your quote "which is better 1 or 2"). I have had vision exams every year or two for the past 35 years. THIS HAS NEVER BEEN PERFORMED BY ANYONE OTHER THAN DOCTOR. As far as wanting to charge my medical insurance for the retinal exam that my vision benefit provides, is fraud plain and simple. The fact that a medical condition is an underlying reason is already accounted for in the vision benefit. This is why you have a medical degree, correct? No, I will not reconsider you EVER

I have been going to see Dr Wolf since 2003. before he opened his own place Wolf Eye Center. He is a kind compassionate man, very competent and caring, I had an eye injury and that's how I met him. Fast forward to now since his beautiful office opened. I still go to Wolf Eye Center for yearly exams, I was going every 6 months because I was a glaucoma suspect and they had a state of the art machine that could diagnose and detect. Things have slowed down now, I still go in once a year and have been seeing Dr Evans. She is great!
I just got my 2nd pair of glasses. The quality at Wolf Eye

BUYER BEWARE: Get ready to pay for incompetence and then take the blame! I purchased exams and glasses for myself and my two children in 2010. Yep, 2010 and I'm still angry in 2017. We waited way too long for our glasses to come in and then they were wrong. When I put my glasses on I immediately had sharp pains in the back of my scalp. I called and was told my eyes needed to adjust to the new glasses and I should keep wearing them. By the end of the day I had a severe headache and I was vomiting. I had to take another day off work to return to have them rechecked but no one was willing to

The office is very professional. The CMA/COAs seem very well trained. And the eye exam was very thorough.
That being said, I'm not a fan. My experience felt very impersonal. I prefer establishments who take the time to try to get to know me. I spent more time with the CMA/COA than I did with the doctor. If you've ever experienced OPA in Anchorage, it's a lot like that. It's only a matter of time before Wolf starts handing out buzzers (like in restaurants).
If you like to get in and get out without getting a lot of personal questions, then this place is for you. If you prefer

Where to begin.
To clarify, this happened fall of last year. I'm giving them 2 stars because I had gotten glasses from them a few year ago, and the service was great, glasses came in on time and it was fine. Then last year I go back for an exam to get my prescription updated. The exam itself was fine, but once I paid (paid in cash, cash discount) I was pretty much ignored. I needed sunglasses so I began looking at different types and landed on a nice pair of Ray Bans. I hunted down someone to help me order/buy them. Glasses were ordered and I would hear back when they got in.

Horrible service. Ordered glasses this summer...
Visit 1. They wrote down the wrong prescription for one of my lens when they ordered it.
Visit 2. My prescription from the doctor was determined incorrect from the beginning.
Visit 3. Third attempt to my glasses, no one noticed the smudge in the coating till I got there and tried them on and I still experienced blurriness. The head lady came out and argued with me about my prescription with little patience for me, Im sorry... this is my third visit by the way, then she tells me to wear the new ones to get use to it as the reorder the lens. This is my second visit to wolf eye center. My husband and I came in last year for our annual exams. My husband has great vision and has not had an exam in the 10 years I have known him but he can see things before I can. Then I ordered contacts through them and the difference due after insurance was $8. I called to pay immediately upon receiving my bill. Two weeks later I get another notice so I

We received a note from the school saying the Lion's association had done a exam on my 5 yr old and came back for a referral. Went to Wolf Eye Center for a 4:50 and 5:30 appt...for my 2 boys. We did not leave the office until 7pm.
The 5 year old takes longer to answer questions and sees things differently than most people; therefore he takes his time when asked questions.
The doctor actually said this to my son: "Come on (name), you need to try harder"
He said this quite a few times actually. I don't think we were given proper care, I feel like the doctor just scribbled
