Michael's Little Italy
My grandparents came to New York City from Sicily at a time when Fiorello La Guardia held mayoral office, Lucky Luciano was beginning a prison term, and the world was just starting to hear the music of Frank Sinatra.

While many Italians were reaching great heights, the average Southern Italian immigrants lived modestly, kept to their own neighborhoods, and raised families built upon whichever traditions from the old country could be maintained in the US.But now, almost three generations later, we still cling to what makes us Italian-American.

I post reviews when absolutely necessary. It was my family’s first time here, and unfortunately, we are very dissatisfied. My oldest requested lasagna for dinner, so we decided to do takeout. We came home to a COLD $24 lasagna. I called the restaurant to give them a chance to make it right. Sadly, we will NOT be returning to Michael’s Little Italy.
You might go home with cold food, and the thought of checking to make sure seems unsanitary.

The ambience, service and location are all 5 stars!
This was without a doubt some of the most prompt, friendly service I've ever received. I felt attended to without it being intrusive, like she made recommendations tailored to our tastes instead of their wants, and just generally welcomed and cared for.
Lots of great wine choices at moderately reasonable prices.
The food is where they lost me. It just wasn't good. We had octopus salad, Caesar salad, eggplant parm and a special that was seafood pasta in a white wine sauce. The octopus was chewy, Caesar was really unremarkable, eggplant

My wife and I ate dinner here on Friday, October 29, 2021.  It was our first visit but not our last. Our server Natasha was lovely. And our food (Calamari Fritti, Lasagna, Cannolis) and drinks (Cefalu Cooler) were delicious. Our dinner was before we attended a play at the nearby Little Theater of Alexandria. We'll dine here before all our future visits to the Little Theater.

Very underwhelming. We were very excited to eat there after driving by every day on the way to work. First, we were the only one seated outside and got to hear the new guy be trained on the job. The food was a 1/5. Got the special app- zucchini flour and it was four small pieces of zucchini fried. Not enough to be considered a snack for a three year old. Also got the Aperol Spritz. As someone who has lived in Italy, it was flat and completely wrong. Third the special of the day- the seafood pasta.. pasta itself was okay. The lobster and shrimp were heavily over cooked. Not worth the $34. Extremely

Fantastic, Fresh, and better than ever!! I am so grateful that I tried Mike's Little Italy, I was a faithful customer of Franco's, the previous ownership, and just like most things in Italy, It just gets better with time! Kudos to the new owners for making dinner a truly amazing experience. As you can see the fresh homemade dishes are simply amazing!

We ate at this restaurant on 9/18/21 at 8pm. Food was OK. Owners were both very friendly and accommodating. But the service was so slow, it was hard to enjoy our time there. It took 15-20 minutes to get our drinks order. The food order took about 45 minutes to arrive at our outdoor table.

Too bad, because the owners were very nice people.

We showed up early for our dinner reservation and they were more than happy to accommodate us. We left and came back instead of inconveniencing them.
Food was really good and delicious desserts.
Haven't eaten out at real restaurant in a while and found the prices have really gone up. Spent over $220 (not including tip) for 4 which included 4 glasses of wine, one drink, one starter, 4 entrees and 2 desserts.
As I said, food was really good, portions good (only one sm take out), drinks and dessert yummy. Definitely recommend.

Sad attempt at "Italian" food - the Caesar salad tasted like a supermarket kit. Even the waitress told us she eats elsewhere for Italian food.

4.3 stars is a travesty. This place is truly a delight. Such wonderful food (the best authentic Italian dishes I’ve had in ten years living here). Pleasant host staff. Such wonderful ambience (reserve your seats outside if the weathers nice). Don’t waste your time anywhere else, reserve a seat and enjoy a little slice of Italy.

If I could give 0 stars, I would.

This place is horrible and has an appalling staff, and I never even got to step foot into the restaurant to see this person's face.

My friend and I called the restaurant to make a reservation, and the receptionist told us the restaurant was full after my friend, who has an accent, asked about availability for two. When my friend asked when the next availability for the night we were told that only the bar might be available, we said we would take that, and the gentleman said ok and hung up. Please note, this whole conversation was on speaker, so I heard

Terrible service. My friends and I were seated for a 7pm reservation. We placed our orders around 7:30. The food came out at 9pm. We were the last patrons in the outside seating area by the time we started eating. Other customers had came and left in front of us during our stay. The reason being, the server gave us, was, "People don't know, but we have a whole other back room to attend to and we've been especially busy tonight." The server was not accountable nor sympathetic to the horrendous delay. The food, once arrived, was pretty tasty. But unfortunately, that does not

Great cozy atmosphere and the best NY-style pizza I've had in a long time. Also loved the Lobster Ravioli, which just melts in your mouth. Great service and a really cool retro lounge upstairs to hang out in after dinner for some dessert cocktails. 🍕👍

Great time!

Our table ordered Sea Bass, Saltimbocca, Lobster Mac, and Lasagna. All were great tasting. I had the lasagna and it was particularly good.

I think one of the best things was the pianist. He was very interactive and really seemed to love playing. Made for a great experience.

The pianist, David, was a real treat on the second floor, just after our very quaint dinner alongside the fireplace on the first floor. Much larger, multiroom restaurant than expected. And our waiter, Dave, not the pianist, was incredible with his service. Nice, concise menu makes selections real easy with very nice 'custom' drinks, and wine selection too. We'll try the pizza to go next, and will return on another Friday or Saturday for more piano fun.

Ordered chicken parm that had no cheese, no breading, no flavor. Very tangy sauce. Can’t imagine anyone would make a sauce that tastes like this so it must be from a can or jar. One stars are because the food was ready for pick up on time and the salad we ordered was very good.

We ordered delivery and we're not disappointed! It's hard to find legit NY style pizza in this area. Michael's Little Italy has yummy NY style pizza and fresh Caesar salad. Pizza has thin crispy crust, flavorful sauce and just the right amount of cheese. The pepperoni has a bit of a kick to it. Take the pizza but leave the cannoli... it's not really cannoli. More like whipped cream (not ricotta).

Cute on the outside, rundown on the inside. Had their carbonara. It was not good. Sticky. Clumpy. Tasted as bland as it looked. I try to give most places more than one shot but I think I will pass on a second try. :-(

Gotta say, shocked this restaurant is rated so high. Ordered through Uber Eats and 15 or 20 minutes later I go to check the order status and the restaurant cancelled the order. I call to inquire (and in fairness, the staff was friendly and apologetic) and I was told they were out of the appetizer I chose so they had to cancel and had attempted to message me in app to inform me. Never recieved a message, and while I understand they had to cancel and have me reorder to start over, how hard would it have been to call me? All told the delay cost me about an hour from when it should have initially been

Michael's reminds me more of an old school Italian restaurant with some of the typical tomato based sauces. What I liked about the restaurant was that it was in a quaint townhouse with fireplaces and had a comfortable feel to it. With so many corporate and restaurant groups around the area, it is nice to have a sole proprietor with their own establishment. My eggplant parmesan had a rich sauce and there was plenty of eggplant. They also serve pizza. Overall, it was a decent experience and I would like to try some of the other pastas.

I have been here a few times and this place under rated.
The food is very good! Never disappointed.
I ordered the gnocchi with truffle cream sauce. Yes. It was delicious and decadent. The gnocchi melted in my mouth with that savory truffle oil to add to the complex and savory flavor. Worth the $6 up charge for the truffle oil.
The best part of our meal was our server Nicole.
We had a group of 20+ people including toddlers and an infant.
Serving a large group of people coming at staggered times is challenging for any server/waitress. Nicole handled it with ease and professionalism.

While on vacation we checked out Yelp for a good Italian restaurant with good reviews and we took a chance that turned out to be a home run. Delicious homemade Italian entrees to choose from. The artichokes appetizer was so good—straight from Italy. Try the garlic bread...it’s really good especially with the homemade sauce!! I usually order eggplant parmigiana whenever I go to eat at an Italian restaurant but decided to try the rigatoni with pork—good choice. My husband ordered the eggplant parmigiana with freshly made noodles and loved it so I tried it—it was also good. You must try the

Lasagne was really good and the chicken parm was just okay, nothing special but I wouldn't return more so based on the lack of customer attention and service from overall restaurant and bar staff. We had an 8pm reservation and we were asked to wait at the bar,( which has 6 maybe 7 chairs), where there were very few customers and it still took 26 mins before the bar staff even said hello. Once we received our wine we went upstairs to eat. A very small cozy room with a loud off key piano player entertaining us. We ordered entrees only, asked for more bread while we waited which never came, our waitress
