Amcoe Sign Company Since 1936 - Signs & Designs is a small sign design and fabrication house in Fremont, CA. In its early years in Palo Alto, Amcoe Sign worked closely with the well-known artisan community to provide exceptional design and quality fabrication.
When the original owner Robert "Bob" Neifing's health started to decline and he wished to sell the business, Stephen George Coulthard and Noel Marquis who were working at Blaze Signs in Fremont, CA, purchased the business in 1963.Stephen Coulthard Sr. was the original sign designer for the "Doggie Diner Head" sign, a notable landmark figurehead in Northern California, while working at Blaze Signs.

We do not stock custom signs "off the shelf", they all have to be fabricated by hand, although we do have a Quick Ship Online Store for interior office signs. Your Logo or "What do you want the sign to say"? 2. What type of materials do you want your sign made from? 3. Do you want the sign "Illuminated" for night time? or non-illuminated?
All Exterior commercial sign projects require a Planning Division Permit and most require a Building Division permit. How long does the City take to issue a sign permit required for a commercial sign project?. This varies by City, but it can take as little time as a 1 Hour meeting and we pull the permit "Over the Counter" or it may need to be submitted into the city and can take upwards of 2 months.
Many Silicon Valley & Surrounding Cities are now demanding "MASTER SIGN PROGRAMS" for Multi-Tenant Properties. More cities are coming onboard every month, so check your City Sign Ordinance if they require a Master Sign Program before pulling a Sign Permit. Many development projects demand signage programs that specifically address needs that transcend existing ordinances.
Creating and fabricating signage is fun and exciting for us and for our clients. Nothing say's "We're Open for Business" like a brand new sign mounted on the outside of your building. Everyone hates paperwork, but unfortunately there is a paperwork process that must be followed before we can start manufacturing your new signs.

OMG what a gem!! I'll amplify what the previous reviewer (Dave?) said. This company absolutely EXCELS in their craft. They have a Silicon Valley history and have worked for all of the big boys that come to mind when you say Silicon Valley. Take a look at their 'About' page to get just an idea of their history.
But why the EXCEL is because they know their craft. I came to Steve with a vision board and what he crafted and created with the plans truly takes my breath away. He is physically manifesting for the first time (excluding business cards and small promotional material) my 20

OMG what a wonderful find these guys are just the best
A family run company that knows and understands the needs of a small business
I had new signs for our showroom installed and not only did this crew show up on a Saturday morning with all the necessary supplies but they had absolutely no problems coming back a couple more times as different things were changed and added by us
There needs to be a highest recommendation button on yelp just for this company not once did they question any of our designs except to make improvements and every time their ideas were better than ours
