Rutledge Psychiatry
I am a board-certified psychiatrist. Psychiatrists are physicians trained in treating mental illness with both medication and talk therapy. My education included four years of medical school after college, and six years of additional psychiatric training. If you are interested in becoming a new patient, please review my Policies and Rates.

Then, if you would like to be put on my waiting list, email me at RutledgeMD@protonmail.com Be sure to include your name, phone number, and whether you are seeking talk therapy, medication management or both. I am currently only seeing patients by video or phone, unless there are extenuating circumstances that prevent this.
Services
Everyone has stress. Everyone has ups and downs. Everyone worries sometimes. However, when these experiences interfere with your ability to do what you need to do or to enjoy life, you may benefit from therapy or medication. My clients often tell me they cannot stop thinking about events that have happened or what might happen.
Therapy is such an important process that it's essential to find someone compatible with you. When you first call, we will spend several minutes discussing what your needs are and what my approach is. If it seems we are a good fit, then we will schedule an appointment for an extended session for me to gather information about your childhood, your physical and mental health, and your current symptoms and life situation.
I was drawn to psychiatry since it views health through a lens of the whole person: the physical, the mental and the social. Biological aspects of treatment can include medication to manage symptoms and discussion of lifestyle changes to improve physical wellness, such as exercise and techniques to improve sleep.
Emergencies: For life threatening medical or psychiatric emergencies, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. Cancellation: To cancel an appointment, please call me at least 48 hours ahead of time.

Given the limited availability of appointment times and that last minute cancellations are generally unable to be rescheduled with another patient, cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to the scheduled appointment may be charged at the regular rate.Patients arriving late for an appointment will be seen until the end of the scheduled appointment time, and charged for a full appointment.

The review below must have been specific to that person. Dr. Rutledge was not that way with me at all. I am 47 diagnosed at 28 and was lucky (very very lucky) to be diagnosed by an amazing Psychiatrist in Beverly Hills who got me immediately on medications that help me function in a world not designed for my brain. I’ve been to over 30 (maybe more) since he passed away.
Dr. Rutledge is, by far, the best out there. Period.
Sadly, there is not many Mental Heath providers that know more than I do about bipolar disorder. “Psychiatrists” do know much more about the medications, but I’ve found

Very very cold and distance. Believes only in mono-therapy (one drug at time) and will make you go completely off you meds for a few days before changing them. Terribly frustrating to work with. Avoid.
