My experience at Jackson House La Mesa was first class. I was there for 3 weeks and learned a lot, participated in 80% of the groups, had 1:1 individual therapy, art therapy, CBT, DBT and more! I found most everyone to be kind and professional, remembering that not everyone is created equal. I feel much better coming out than going in. I made some friends, had a lot of laughs, some crying, but always felt safe. I'm so grateful that Jackson House exists. I came from the hospital to home for a week and then into the house. I am grateful they had a bed for me and would definitely would

Went here two and a half years ago after a long stay at Aurora psychiatric hospital. Between the stay at aurora and my stay at Jackson house I was able to get stable on meds and got clean and sober. Jackson house worked with my insurance to get me into rehab and the first rehab didn’t work out and came back to Jackson house and they welcomed me back and found the right place for me. 2 1/2 years later I’m still sober, I haven’t been to a psychiatric hospital and I have a bunch of tools to help me. One of the best things that ever happened to me. The staff was super compassionate and beyond

I had cracked. The chronic hives for 18 months were a hint that my stress levels were too high. Alas, they went ignored once I started getting expensive monthly shots that held them at bay. More stress arrived (life is HARD, people!), and my body upped the ante with regular panic attacks and eventually nonstop chattering teeth. I felt so overwhelmed and broken that suicide sounded like a reasonable solution. At the ER, I was given Ativan and three options: 1. Go home and try to manage on my own. 2. Go to a locked psych ward. 3. A two-week voluntary residential mental health program at Jackson House

This is an update to a previous review that I wrote. My experience here was memorable and challenging. Most of the staff members here are caring and inspiring people especially the medical staff and the director. There were tense moments for me with some of the staff members and patients but that’s okay. I had a difficult time adjusting to the fact that I was discharging because I didn’t want to make the same mistakes that I have many times before but now I’m feeling a lot better and changing. Staying here is one of the reasons why and I’m content.

I want to thank all Jackson House Staff from the bottom of my heart. They've helped my adult son (and me) in so many ways. My son was in a very dark place and JH staff came alongside to guide him through the challenges. He's benefited from their comprehensive program and especially from their genuine care about his well-being. Thank you once again for everything Jackson House Staff!

I went to Jackson House when I was lost and in a horrible place and I came out set up and hopeful for my future. The staff, counselors, and supervisor are absolutely the best anyone could ask for, and I couldn’t be more grateful to have gone there. HIGHLY recommend if you are in need of help, Jackson House saved my life!

Look being here is hard, and the work is hard, but that is also what makes it a fantastic place. The staff here actually care about you, they listen, and they want you to keep getting better. I am terrified to post this because of the stigma surrounding mental health, and honestly it's taken me some time to actually do it. However, I truly believe the staff deserve to be recognized as the amazing people they are, and the wonderful place they work. I'm not all better, and I'm not going to be for quite some time but these people are an awesome team and they are good at what they do.

This Place is amazing. Seriously. There is always hardships in life, but the people you meet here, at times, will be all you need to find the light of your potential. Thank you to Caroline and Lauren for everything you have done. Shout out to Vicky, who is hands down the best, most inspiring nurse I have ever met (even with what feels like a lifetime of hospitalizations.) Thanks for being my guiding light, even when times are under guise. You people are what the world needs.
If you're reading this and unsure about the next step is... Jackson House is the answer. Just trust your path.

I had a family member who received care and support through the Jackson house in La Mesa. My family and I were praying endlessly for good mental health support, feeling exhausted and hopeless at times with how broken our system is. And then we heard about the Jackson House! Lauren and the whole team here were just beyond incredible. Not only did they go to great lengths to advocate for my family member but they also provided the very environment he needed- where mental health was approached without stigma and with real tools to help stabilize and restore lives. I will forever be grateful for the

The Jackson House is a mental health crisis center. When our family member was in crisis, they took him in immediately and offered him a quiet, caring, safe place to begin the path to recovery. Within a few days, they found a suitable program for him, handled all the paperwork, and made arrangements for transportation. They accept many different insurance companies. The staff were all knowledgeable, calm, helpful, kind. I really can't say enough good things about our experience here.
