In 1990 Andy Williamson opened Midwest Boat Appeal for business in Tonka Bay, offering boat cleaning and detailing services. After two years MWB expanded services to include fiberglass and gel coat repair along with wood refinishing. In 1995 the business was moved to Excelsior on the shores of Lake Minnetonka.

BS 1088 Hydrotek is a multi-ply marine plywood that is superior to all standard Meranti plywood currently produced. Both face and inner plies are constructed from whole piece, color matched, Meranti veneers. Hydrotek is used in boat building applications where only the best will do. Hydrotek's durable rating will ensure that you are using a marine plywood that will last a lifetime.
Our Okoume marine plywood is European made to a British Standard 1088 grade and is Lloyds Registered. Okoume marine plywood is lightest in weight among marine plywood products available. It has the best strength to weight ratio. Okoume is strong and easy to work with for tooling. It has moderate resistance to rot and mildew.
Our teak marine plywood is a beautiful marine panel commonly used for cabin soles. Teak marine plywood has medium density and is very rot and mildew resistant. Teak and Holly uses a tropical hardwood for its core veneers, constructed with a waterproof glue. Due to the natural oils and silica found in teak, it can clog sand paper and dull edged tools.

I just picked up supplies for my own boat project from these guys. I dealt with Andy. This place was great to work with. The customer service was fantastic. Andy was super helpful, explained things to me that I was not quite sure of, reexplained if I wasn't quite following, he helped explain how to do the job right, extremely knowledgeable on boats. After dealing with them I will be giving them all of my business when it comes to boats. I also really liked that Andy layed out options but not once pressured up sail. Great shop if you have something to do with boats I would call these guys first
