Services
These vary from inner-lagoon dives, sloping outer-reef dives, and wall dives. Although all of our sites are fascinating, we do have some that are better in certain seasons. Some of these are further afield and some require diving experience of an advanced level. All of our dives are drift dives with a boat following the dive group for support.
Buccaneer Paje is a vibey dive centre based at Paje Beach Apartments & Hotel and partnered with the ever popular Ocean Restaurant. We rarely see other divers on our pristine reefs and spend lots of time exploring the many kilometres of untouched drop offs and pinnacles.
Buccaneer Diving has been teaching and leading diving on the East African Coast for over thirty years and as a PADI Instructor Development Diving Centre we have taught many of the amazing PADI Diving Instructors and Divemaster's teaching and earning a living throughout the whole Swahili Coast.

Get in the water early and enjoy watching the sea life come alive on one of our sunrise dives. The Jambiani base is located at Red Monkey Lodge. It is situated in a small bay surrounded by the coral rocks offering stunning views of the crystal clear, tranquil waters of Zanzibar. You can also take a nice walk to the sandbank in front of the bay.
PADI e-learning is the diving industries' best teaching method and it allows you to study at home and in your own time and arrive prepared and ready to hit the water almost straight away. At Buccaneer Diving we always encourage our students to use e-learning as a great way to get a solid theoretical foundation on their chosen course at their own pace and where they feel most comfortable.
The easiest way to get started, the Discover Scuba Diving Experience is an introduction to the wonders of the underwater world! If you are curious about scuba diving and don't know where to start, you have come to the right place. PADI Discover Scuba Diving, whilst not a scuba certification course, is the best way to learn about what it takes to plunge into a certification course.

Most warm team and experienced instructors! Highly recommended to learn diving at Buccaneer(Zanzibar-Paje) safe and and sound whilst having a grand smile on your face! The underwater world is yet to be explored and ventured more & more every day of our lives!

Took through Advanced Open Water Scuba diving courses. Excellent experience. Polar and Nadine as instructors along with the support and boat staff are great. Saw an octopus, barracuda, sting rays, etc. I went directly to Buccaneer from arriving in Zanzibar and within an hour of arriving I did the pool dives with Polar (plan thoroughly to make this possible though). The next day I started going on the dive trips. 2 dives per trip (day). They even made it possible for a night dive to work out which was special!

I went with Buccaneer Diving on an incredible experience! I’ve never dived before and wasn’t doing any Padi qualifications but was still able to get out in the water in a safe way! We did the discover diving course, we spent time in the pool going through all the safety measures and getting acquainted with the equipment and all the basics you’d need for the dive.
The next day we went out for 2 dives, the whole time I felt very safe and the instructors regularly checked on us and kept us in the loop. The wildlife we saw was incredible and varied.

We did our dives with Buccaneer Diving in Paje in November 2021. Didi gave us all a thorough brief and training session before we got on board and looked after us perfectly throughout. We are a family of eight and had two fabulous dives and saw so much. There is some wonderful coral about 30 minutes from the beach with plenty of fish. We all felt very welcome, safe and secure. Great company with a professional team of people.
