Just got done with the weekend plus scuba course today! I just wanted to take the time to give my instructor, Thomas Whiteley a huge shoutout. I don’t know where to even begin, I was extremely nervous, scared and anxious but he never lost his cool even though I’m sure I was driving him up the wall. More importantly, he never gave up on me. To say he went above and beyond is an understatement. I overcame my fear and I got through it but I could not have done it without Thomas. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I highly recommend A-1!

New to the diving world and A-1 gave me a warm introduction into scuba diving. From Brett in retail spending over an hour with me to fit gear, providing recommendations, and answering my many questions and Bob’s constant attentiveness in the shop to ensure you’re being helped; Dan and Ryan’s expert instruction in the classroom and pool, to the openness I feel when interacting with any A-1 scuba employee. While visiting Colorado, I came across an ad about shark diving experience at the aquarium. Being recently certified, it was something I had to try. The registration process was very easy, just filled out everything online, only had to call to make sure I can bring and use my camera. Amazing experience with A-1 scuba instructors taking us into the shark tank in the Downtown Aquarium in Denver. We spent about 40 minutes in the water while taking photos and pictures of the sharks. It was an experience I wouldn't forget and definitely recommend to others.

Their website states they can fill any compressed air tank and lists paintball tanks as the first example. They go on to say a DOT visual inspection is used and most tanks can be filled while you wait. Great. I head to the store.
Once there, I get told they have to visually inspect inside the tank and it is an annual exam with a 22 dollar fee, if I want it filled today anothet 15 dollar fee. This

My group of 8 had an amazing experience here today for fathers day our instructors Rafale and Julie were phenomenal and so much fun. They were patient and friendly and so helpful in teaching us first timers how to scuba dive. We experienced the try the scuba package it is affordable and so worth it. Thank you guys for a great day and amazing experience ;)

Did a refresher course yesterday with Rita. She sent an email prior to the class to make sure I didn't have any questions and called the day before. What a fantastic instructor. She broke everything down and was engaging with each student. Some students were PADI and others SSI. She insured it was taught correctly for each. Visited their facility last week to signup for the class. Was greeted by Brett who was very friendly and gave of us tour of the facility. The facility and all their gear was maticulessly kept and organized. I know where I'm going for any future training. Thank

1st of 2 parts of this review: I wish I could give the appropriate rating of 5 STARS here, but I have to split the difference between 2 parts. As a new diver in 2016 I totally LOVED the shop, the inventory, the staff (at that time), the instructors, the classes, the facility, the travel, the charity work and outreach, the aquarium program, the May sale...all of it! A1 is definitely a one-stop-shop that encompasses SO many facets of the scuba world under one roof. I was referred to A1 Scuba by a friend. We went and first checked out the facility as you hear stories about scuba shops not being professional at all. That was definitely not the case! It was clean and professional. There is a dive shop, travel center, then the dive training area. My instructors were Tom and Jack. Both were extremely nice, very competent, and fun to be around. The equipment was in good order. Our instructors smoothly taught us how to scuba dive over 3 days with learning all the PADI techniques. It was an awesome experience to be able to dive for the first time and I cannot wait

Took my granddaughter for a birthday "double header" of Swim With the Fish followed by the Shark Tank experience. This was her second time for Swim With the Fish and she still had a blast. The attentiveness of the dive guides and staff was brought home when she did the Shark Tank experience as her ears began to act up during the dive and she was taken back up early due to concerns about her ability to clear her ears properly. After the group dive, the guide came out to the waiting area and told us they were going to take her back down solo for a while since her group experience was not

This is just a great place all around. The staff is always so friendly and helpful, they have great products and a very nice facility to learn how to scuba dive in. I took my open water certification here and the class was fun and very informative. Tony and Kevin were great pool instructors and I felt prepared to do my chatfield certification with Jenn and John this past summer. I now getting ready to go on my first dive trip to Belize in a week. The rental process is very easy and I can't wait to pick up my gear. Thanks A1 for being a wonderful place to learn and grow!

I highly recommend A-1 Scuba, whatever you scuba needs are. You need gear, they have it. You need your gear fixed, they can do that. You need some place to use your gear, they can book it for you.
Everyone from the front door to the back end is friendly and helpful.
I cannot say enough things about this shop. Not to mention the pool which they keep warm enough to dive without a wetsuit and it's underwater speakers pumping out classic rock is a nice bonus. I'd probably live in this pool if they would let me.

I had a great experience with dive instructor Andrew. Although I didn't have any reservations or fears beforehand, I think if I did, he would have fixed 'em quick. Comfort level and confidence boost for sure. Andrew also went out of his way for several members of the class to accommodate needs, including my own. Really responsive to calls and emails. All around great experience with Andrew.
Also, both owners took time out of their day to stop by the class to introduce themselves, greet everyone, ask about their upcoming trips. It's rare to see that kind of customer service anymore

Even though I am very happily married I have absolutely fallen in love with the guys at A-1! Scuba Steve (and Dan) was the best instructor, Mike can customize, build, or repair anything, Sean was very knowledgeable in the products/equipment and helped me pick exactly what I needed and wanted, and Eric has a way about him that makes you feel like you belong there; they are all just fantastic. We did your OW with A-1 and they were great. Ryan has always been very helpful in the store and knows tons about all the gear needs and unlike other shops has never tried to oversell, but very practical about the basics and excited for the cool gadgets if you like to toy shop.
Our OW class instructors and DMs were awesome and made sure we were safe and competent above just going through the motions. Their emphasis on safe diving kept us out of bad situations more then once and made us confident to say no when we needed too rather then just blindly jump like cattle off a barge and to think underwater

Best dive shop in the Rocky Mountain region. My husband and I got certified with A-1 about 7 years ago and they've been our only stop of everything diving ever since. Wonderful staff, great selection in-store, and great advice. They also coordinate the Downtown Aquarium dive with the sharks program, which my husband and I have done twice. We also used their travel services to help coordinate a large family trip to Mexico. Great people. Great place.

We had a great experience at A-1! My husband and I stopped by the store on the Saturday after Christmas to pick up some snorkeling gear for an upcoming trip to Belize. We were surprised at how busy the store was, but the employees really did a great job balancing helping out all the customers.
They were knowledgeable and helped us find the right fit for our needs with snorkel gear - we both bought fins, masks, and snorkels and they also helped us with waterproof swim bags and sunglasses. They were having some good sales, which was a nice surprise!

I was planning a trip to Maui in which I wanted to go diving on the trip. I walked in to A-1 to see how much scuba certification would be and what I needed to do to get certified before my trip. Megan had helped me and answered all my questions. She signed me up for the classes and took care of payment. She was extremely helpful and made me aware of all my options for the class.

I've always wanted to be a scuba diver. I've always thought of myself as a potential scuba diver. My limitations have been, in no particular order, living in a landlocked state, claustrophobia, a fear of losing my contacts, and an almost complete lack of buoyancy. Oh, and the fact that I somehow made it to adulthood without learning to tread water. I tried to take a scuba class in college and it didn't exactly work out; I would have been the first person ever to fail scuba if they failed students in scuba.
