The Vajrayana approach is replete with many methods that purify negativity and gather wholesomeness. Among all these methods, it is said that the Tsok Offering is the most powerful. We at Amrita carryout the practice of Tsok several times each month as advised by our founder, His Eminence, the late Chagdud Rinpoche.
What is the meaning of butter lamp offerings? We do not offer the lamps because enlightened beings need to see them. Rather, the offering of light is a means of dispelling the darkness of our own ignorance, giving rise to clarity and wisdom. We offer them with the wish that their light will illuminate the lower realms and the bardo, assuaging the torment of beings who suffer in darkness.
Membership pledges directly support our ongoing operation costs, such as rent, utilities, and office expenses, as well as maintain a financial stability that allows us to offer our events at a low cost and provide a generous sponsorship program.
