Seattle Dharma Refuge is led by Rev. Master Basil Singer, a contemplative monk in the Serene Reflection (Soto Zen) tradition. He was ordained by Rev. Master Jiyu Kennett in 1993, transmitted by Rev. Master Koshin Schomberg in 1999, and named a Master in 2003. In 2011 Rev. Master Basil moved to Seattle in order to offer to others the Heart of Buddhism as transmitted to him.

Seattle Dharma Refuge is led by Rev. Master Basil Singer. Rev. Master Basil has been a Soto Zen Buddhist monk for over twenty-five years. He was ordained by Rev. Master Jiyu Kennett in 1993, transmitted by Rev. Master Koshin Schomberg in 1999, and named a Master in 2003. He trained at North Cascades Buddhist Priory for 21 years.
We would also recommend listening to other Dharma talks given by Rev. Master Basil's teacher, Rev. Master Koshin Schomberg, available on the North Cascades Buddhist Priory website. Zen is Eternal Life is a book by Rev. Master Jiyu Kennet which includes her teachings on the fundamentals of Soto Zen, as well as teachings by the two most important Japanese masters in our tradition, Dogen Zenji and Keizan Zenji.
