TOT DROP works with children and parents to help them through separation and into joyful independence. Parents are encouraged to stay with their child as they work toward a gentle, successful separation. We want your child to LOVE going to school. We take our cues from your child! Teachers work with parents to design a schedule which best matches a child's needs, abilities, and personality.
Services
We want you to feel comfortable trusting us, as 1000s of families have trusted us for over 20 years. I like having a regular schedule so I can schedule appointments and know that Jennifer is taken care of. The flexibility is great for last minute errands or appointments, and I like that you can adjust the times to fit your schedule.
A: Getting Started at TOT DROP is easy. You just call us like you would call to set up an appointment to get your haircut. You can set up appointments occasionally as needed or better yet set up an on-going weekly schedule. By coming regularly, your child increases their attachment to teachers and to their budding friendships, grows in independence, and derives the greatest social benefit.
All reservations are made by leaving a message. Please request time in 15 minute increments. Minimum reservation is 1 hour. Maximum is 4 hour in a day. We'll call you back later the same day to confirm your reservation and answer any questions. Once you've left a request, please remember to check your own voicemail so you don't miss our confirmation call!
We are looking for someone who is playful, enthusiastic, outgoing, gentle, kind, self-directed, and has a go with the flow attitude. Tot Drop is a noisy, messy, active, happy place. At Tot Drop teachers play with the children rather than simply watch. The ability to interact with the parents is vital as new families drop by almost every day.

Our family LOVES Tot Drop. We are fortunate enough to have family watch our toddler most of the time, but we realized she would benefit from interacting more with kids her own age (plus toddlers are exhausting and we needed a break). We started out going once a week to get my daughter used to it, but now we try to go twice every week. All of the teachers have been so sweet and patient with her and she's used to going now, so we rarely have tears. Not worth my two kids coming for $25 hr to just sit in a room. Almost $500 a week and you have to wait until 9:30am otherwise they charge you a minute before. They are not good with being organized and when you pay cash they have a hard time keeping track and they only take cash! Not organized and they hire young girls to just watch the kids. Definitely a day care and claim it's a preschool. But then again nothing in this area is worth it. You definitely don't get what you pay for. All they do is play for 3 hours. There should be some more activity. My kids never know what they do when

Tot drop is amazing. I was so happy to have found it after moving to Lafayette. They should have this program all over the Bay Area! So convenient for when you want to get some errands done or just have YOU time! Ruth and the other teachers are so kind and genuinely care about the kids. My son loves going and is always happy and tired when I pick him up!

Ruth the (owner/director) has a fantastic business here. parents are able to drop off the kids on demand.
There is an easy number to call 888-tot-drop, you can leave a message and they call back the same day.
It is open from 9-1, Monday through Friday.
Siblings are welcome to attend, the ages are 1 year olds ( they have to be walking steady) to 5 ish years old, Ruth is somewhat flexible, on the 5ish part.
It is really neat how the program integrates various ages children, and they all are able to work together.
