DPA's Preschool is the only program of its kind in our community, combining academic preschool education with music, visual arts, creative movement, and personal expression into a 2-3.5 hour learning experience for the 3-5 year old. Duvall Performing Arts is committed to encouraging dancers of all levels and abilities to strive for excellence through the art of dance. It is through dance where our students build character, self-esteem, discipline, and values that will last a lifetime. We go above and beyond for our families and community, providing quality dance instruction in a family oriented atmosphere.
Hybrid classes are on a rotating schedule with portion of the class in studio and the other portion attending virtual class live. There is a maximum of 5 dancers in studio at one time, so larger classes (i.e., Level 5) will possibly be on a three-week rotation (one week in studio, two weeks virtual).
Duvall Performing Arts is a true reflection of the great qualities that our Duvall community cherish. Providing dance instruction for all levels and abilities from tiny tots and youth programs to their renowned Performance Division, DPA's professional instructors provide quality education in a safe and healthy environment.
This class is a wonderful introduction to the art of dance. Bring your tiny dancer(s) and enjoy new forms of movement and play in a safe and fun environment. This is for toddlers who want to play, dance, & move to music! It enhances large motor skills and body awareness. This is not a Parent & Tot class, it is for toddlers who are ready for a 30 min/week class without a parent.
Ms. Smith goes on to explain that involvement in the arts is associated with gains in math, reading, cognitive ability, critical thinking, and verbal skills. Arts learning can also improve motivation, concentration, confidence, and teamwork. These are all skills that we want for our children.
In a society where the focus is more on the product, then the process, our staff's desire to teach the "whole" child is supported by using the arts to educate.We believe that a child learns best when focusing on the process, not just the end result. Curiosity, testing, failing, trying again, and succeeding are all a part of the process and this mirrors the process found in the arts, whether that be music, dance, theatre, or playing an instrument.

Starting our 9th year here... 3 girls who have all started at age 2 1/2 and still loving it! The instructors are professional with excellent teaching skills and provide a strong base of the basics while instilling a love of dance at the same time! As a parent, I REALLY appreciate the age appropriate dancing. My 8 year old's hip-hop moves are fun to watch while her ballet, tap, and jazz moves are clean and improve greatly from year to year. Having grown up in a competitive dance studio myself, I am SO thankful for the family feel that these dancers share with one another. They're bodies are being

Very strong base of administrative , technical and artistic staff with varied dance expertise and many years of professional dance experience. I am so positively impressed by the close family-type dynamics of this academy: the older students and staff watch over the younger students and take a personal interest in their development not only as dancers but also as individuals. Contemporaries serve as mentors, encouragers and helpmates for each other as well as the younger students all under the loving tutelage of dedicated teachers and staff.
