Joe Knott worked as an Agricultural Inspector for the County of San Diego Department of Agriculture, Weights and Measures for 20 years. It was there that he developed his passion, knowledge and experience of Entomology, insect identification, pest control techniques and pesticide regulation. Always looking for a new challenge, Joe retired from the County at age 45 and went into the pest control industry.
He founded Knott's Pest Control and was Incorporated in 1981. His three sons, Donald, Deron and Brian, who had been around Pest Control since childhood, joined their father in the family business. Nowadays, Joe is as close to "retired" as he'll ever be, staying active as our Field Consultant and continuing to share his 50 years of knowledge and experience with our clientele.

Bed bugs are parasites that preferentially feed on humans. If people aren't available, they will feed on other warm-blooded animals, including birds, rodents, bats, and pets instead. Bed bugs have been documented as pests since the 17th century. They were introduced into our country by the early colonists.
