The Hudson Cakery is an upscale custom cake boutique with an emphasis on TASTE. We bake-to-order with only the freshest ingredients for a delicious addition to your special day. We are proud to be one of the very few commercial bakeries to bake from scratch. Head Pastry Chef, Owner and Hoboken resident, Jennifer Bunce-Timmons, has loved baking (and eating!) desserts, especially cake, since she was a child.
With no intention of baking for a living, she found success in Event Planning and Public Relations post-college. But after 5 years of the corporate grind, she knew she had to find a "sweeter" way of living. She decided to turn her hobby of baking and cake decorating into a career so she attended the Institute of Culinary Education in NYC in 2008.

Services
Our Dessert-style Buttercream cakes are perfect for any occasion - birthdays, showers, engagements, A Friday night - anything! You can change the icing color on any of these cakes but they cannot be altered in design. Any extra decor would be considered a custom cake. The written message on a sugar plaque is complimentary and placed on either on top or the side (as shown on the "Rosette" cake).
VANILLA 4 Smash Cake (naturally nut-free) - $30 (or $25 when placed with another cake order) THIS INCLUDES BUTTERCREAM DECOR ONLY: smooth/rustic/ruffled/swirled or rosettes. Any decor is extra. Cake Pops - We make them Pop Down (if you need them "pop up" like lollipops, please let us know, no extra charge!) - $27/dozen.
The Hudson Cakery operates like a caterer. We have nothing readily available for you to purchase same day as everything is made to order. Because of the custom nature of our business, we need some time to prep your order so we need at least 4+ weeks notice. WE DO NOT ACCEPT WALK-INS - email or call us first for an inquiry.

We LOVED our wedding cakes from Hudson Cakery! We did a small display cake and sheet cake and they were both delicious. I have never had a better chocolate cake (get it with vanilla custard on the inside, you won't regret it). And the carrot cake for our display cake was delicious too! Jennifer was a pleasure to work with from the start and delivered our cake personally. I highly recommend hiring Hudson Cakery. I can't wait to order another cake from them!

I loved working with Jennifer and the rest of the Hudson Cakery team for my wedding cakes. Yes - cakes! We had a traditional brides cake and a custom grooms cake and both were beautiful and delicious! Working with Jennifer was such a delight - she was so communicative, helped me make decisions on servings, styles, design - and it all came out beautifully! I loved having this local baker be part of our wedding and I cannot wait to work with them again!

While picking up the cake, the person at the bakery opened the box and showed me the cake, it wasn't the design I was expecting but still looked pretty.
The person at the bakery said to leave the cake at room temperature for 2 hours. I left it at room temperature for 3 hours just to be on the safe side. The cake frosting was very firm. My party guest and I had a hard time cutting the cake because of how firm it was. Felt a little embarrassed.
The people at the Bakery were very nice. Jennifer was responsive and great to talk to via phone and email. And the cake smelled fantastic.

Jennifer came through for our wedding day and we could not have been more pleased. My husband and I taste tested several local bakeries in town and landed with Hudson Cakery after sampling a variety of flavors in a to-go bundle. We were able to customize our flavors inside and outside of the cake. We now have had three cakes from this wonderful bakery, and each was perfect: a wedding cake for a small wedding with luscious fillings, simple white icing and a few gorgeous flowers; a carrot cake for the groom's 40th birthday celebration that was beyond carrot-cake perfection and most recently a cake for a bridal shower with a "it's a boy" theme with airplane for the future baby's room theme, blue icing and luscious white cake inside with lemon and strawberry fillings. Hudson Cakery created my son's first birthday cake. It was so amazing that all of the adults at his party wanted to photograph it but also wanted to have more than one slice because it was so delicious. Jennifer was such a pleasure to work with and her cakes are unmatched. If you look through her gallery and think her cakes look outstanding, just wait until you taste them. We had a chocolate cake with raspberry preserves and numerous guests went out of their way to tell me it was the best cake they’ve ever had. This cake stole the show at my moms 60th birthday, so many people asked me where it was from! I’ll definitely be a forever customer - I cannot say enough nice things about Jennifer and the Hudson Cakery!!

The Hudson Cakery is a private cake shop in Weehawken. They do not accept walk-ins so all my interactions with them (two purchases) have been via email and everything has gone smoothly and wonderfully. I've purchased their summer cookie decorating kit and also their hot cocoa bombs. I have not purchased a custom cake (yet) but all the pictures of their cakes are stunning! I hope to buy one soon.

Amazing that they were able to stay open during Covid. It is a credit to the owner who has worked hard to keep selling all sorts of baked goods. I have gotten cakes from here a couple times.
They make really nice decorations on the cakes. We got a pink rose covered chocolate cake and it was beautifully done. There is an elegance to these cakes which is great. The inside of the cake is also pretty good but there is a lot of frosting. There is also a lot of sugar in these cakes so be ready to have a sugar rush.

We chose The Hudson Cakery for our micro-wedding this past weekend and the cake turned out exactly how we envisioned! We chose the Nutella and buttercream and it was delicious!! The bakery department at the restaurant cut the cake and they even told us they were so impressed with how well made the cake was. We will definitely use them again for our next celebration!

This place is incredible! Jennifer did an amazing job our cake, decorating it the exact way we spoke about. On top of that, the cake was absolutely delicious. It was ready on the date and time as promised. Absolutely no problems at all, which was such a breath of fresh air with everything else that went wrong for our event. Best cake I've ever had. Cupcakes were phenomenal. They whipped up a sprinkle cake and 18 cupcakes for my birthday that looked and tasted perfect! Most cakes either look delicious or taste delicious, Hudson Cakery nailed both. I will definitely be ordering from them again. I am so pleased with The Hudson Cakery's service! Not only did everything taste delicious, they were the most cutest designs ever! The dessert table of our baby shower was such a hit! Jennifer worked with me to customize all the designs for the cake, cupcakes and cookies up until the day of. The whole process was so smooth and such an amazing experience!

I'm consistently impressed with Jenn & Hudson Cakery, they created our wedding cake (and delivered in a blizzard!), first anniversary cake and now my 40th birthday cake. The cake was a surprise to me but I now know that a lot of communication (back and forth idea sharing between Jenn and my husband) and love went into this masterpiece that truly made my birthday. I love this bakery so much!! I have worked with them on 2 occasions so far and they have far exceeded my expectations each time. The first time I had asked them to make a cake for my fiancé's birthday. He performs in Ironman triathlons and I had wanted something on the cake that would reflect that and wow did they do an amazing job! The second time they had made me a set of absolutely gorgeous baby shower cupcakes for a coworker which were a hit. Aside from the presentation, their cakes are so yummy and moist! My go to bakery from now on!

We asked for recommendations and hunted around for bakeries and everyone said to check out Hudson Cakery. At first we didn't know they did not have a show room. All interactions were done over the phone, email or text. Purely a online business. We had 2 events we needed orders for. First order were for cookies. Second order were for cookies, cupcakes and a 9 inch cake. Events were a week apart. Pickups were early morning.

Our experience with Jennifer and all the staff at Hudson Cakery was wonderful. They are very sweet, helpful and efficient! Our daughter's Christening cake was stunning and looked exactly like the sample picture we sent them. And most importantly, it was so fresh and delicious! Looking forward to ordering her 1st birthday cake!!
