A Simple Cake was started in 2009 and has been entrusted to the mastery of pastry chef Nicolle Lugo since 2017 (2010 ICE alumni). The philosophy remains that the wedding industry needs bakers to provide beautiful cakes that are affordable and easy to order while maintaining quality. We have always tried to pay very close attention to what our clients' needs and wishes are.
NOTICE: Due to the demand for weddings this year we are now booked through the end of this year. We are accepting wedding cake sample box orders for 2022 weddings. Our Wedding Cake Sample Box consists of 3 customizable mini cakes for you and your beloved to share in the comfort of your own home. The tasting box will come with your choice of three cake flavors and each mini cake can have up to two different fillings.

A Simple Cake was amazing to work with from start to finish. Nicolle was very responsive and thoughtful throughout the entire process. She made the entire ordering experience feel very customized. Everything was very easy to order off of the website and she was very helpful in providing direction as needed as well. The cake was beautiful and very delicious. Working with Nicolle at A Simple Cake was truly a pleasure! I'm so happy I found A Simple Cake! Nicolle was wonderful to work with and our four-tiered classic vanilla cake, with layer of raspberry cream, frosted in meringue buttercream and thin layer of vanilla fondant was nothing short of perfection! We loved testing the sample cake in advance (took it to a dinner party and everyone was thrilled!) and the delivery and execution of our cake on the day of the event was flawless, beautiful, and delicious. The whole process is super easy and clear. You design the cake online, get a sample and order! Of course, if you have special request, you can always check with Lauren and she's nice and patient enough to give you the answer.

Lauren is fantastic to work with- she is professional, patient and very talented. I had my friends pick up the cake as our venue was close by and Lauren was very helpful in ensuring the cake reached safely. She took the time to answer any and all questions that I had.
The simple cake we had at our reception was even better than I could've hoped for. It looked beautiful and tasted even better! I highly recommend Lauren and A Simple Cake.

THANK YOU LAUREN!!! The wedding cake process can be pretty stressful...or what I thought was more annoying than anything else. I couldn't believe the astronomical prices I was getting for a 40 serving cake. Some pastry chefs would only do 2 tiers, others wanted over $700 for three tiers. As like all things wedding, my initial budget for a cake price was underestimated. Until I found A Simple Cake. Lauren made my fiance (husband now) and I feel welcomed and reassured. I am a Wedding Planner with Storybook Weddings and Events, and I had a client who ordered their wedding cake from Lauren for their wedding back in June. The term "simple" can be used to describe the cake, but "simple" is not to be used in a boring way, but in an elegant and classic way :) Lauren was even willing to do a very last-minute change to the cake when an idea came to the couple literally a couple of weeks before the wedding. From the day that we came in for our cake tasting (which was one of my husband's favorite part of the whole wedding planning) to the day of our wedding, everything was absolutely perfect! I came in with pintrest photos of what I wanted my dream wedding cake to be and she went above and beyond with my design! I originally wanted a round tiered cake with white buttercream with 3 red roses, but with her expertise and creativity, drew up a way better design that was 100x better than I expected. She made my cake classy and elegant and used my wedding centerpieces as the basis

After weeks of searching for a wedding cake, we could not have been more happy with Lauren and her company "A Simple Cake." From the moment we walked in, we welcome and at home. She was exceptionally accommodating when it came to meeting with us and the samples were incredible.

I'm still on cloud 9 from our destination wedding in NYC! Lauren did a wonderful job throughout the process. We had a tasting during a visit to New York and she worked to accommodate our schedule. All of the choices were delicious! She called before the wedding to confirm the count and to find out whether or not we wanted to make any changes. We connected her with the wedding coordinator at the church and everything was handled beautifully! The cake was delivered on time and in pristine condition. Lauren herself is lovely, talented and extremely professional. Nothing was a problem working with her. Emails and phone calls promptly responded to, tasting a breeze, and day-of delivery a non-issue!
We had a three-tier buttercream, golden yellow cake with tri-berry filling and it was delicious. They have their own buttercream recipe and it definitely tastes that way without the weird grainy, sugary or oily feeling that you get from so many weddings cakes.

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!!!! Lauren was a dream to work with, incredibly easy to get in touch with and extremely focused on making us happy. The cake was PERFECT in every way. We did a custom design of the rosette cake, with ombré pinks. Dark chocolate cake and hazelnut praline chocolate mousse filling/ buttercream frosting. Seriously the best cake I've ever had in my life. Many of our wedding guests made a point to tell us the same thing. We have a ton of cake left because our servers were a little skimpy with servings, and I've defrosted a piece to eat each week. Just as fresh as our wedding
