Dr. Ellen has always had a special way with children. She grew up in Orange County, CA, and, as a teenager, spent her spare time tutoring younger kids. So it's no surprise that, when she decided to pursue a career in dentistry, she was drawn to serving younger patients.

We were referred here from another dental office when my son had too much anxiety to have a cavity filled. Ms. Megan and Dr. Ellen were absolutely incredible with him--we got the procedure done the same day and my son immediately asked to switch dentists. He said he thinks he fell asleep while they were working on him!
They were so patient in explaining the procedure and helping to relieve his anxiety. Absolutely fabulous work with very reasonable rates.
We ended up switching all of our kids here!

Dr Ellens office is very nice and clean. interior spaces are very welcoming to the eye and especially to the children with super heros and other characters up on the walls. Dr Ellen and her staff are very knowledgeable and have known exactly what to do at every situation. can't go wrong taking your kid to this trusted gem

We switched over to both the dental and the ortho practice, due to some bad experiences in the past with other practices. This place has treated us well, and my kiddo is not afraid to go to any of his appointments. They are very accommodating and helpful, and explain the processes and options very well.

After a previous dentist’s negligence we shopped around diligently for a better dentist we could trust. After meeting with several we opted to trust Dr. Ellen with our daughter’s care. Everyone in the office from Sam to Dr. Ellen and the hygienists are all super nice and cheerful. My daughter actually looks forward to going to the dentist! She… likes being able to pick a show to watch, is never scared or in pain, and leaves happily with a new balloon every time. I’ve referred probably a dozen friends to Dr. Ellen and everyone has similar positive feedback as well! So glad

I've gone to several well rated dentist all across San Diego- And Dr. Im is THE ONE! I drive from downtown SD to Poway for her because she's so great- the whole staff is great.
My little guy has nursing cavities galore - I've searched high and low for the right dentist. We've tried so many of the well rated and popular dentist in the greater SD area- I would get fear and shame based feedback from all of them until I found Dr. Im. She gives me nothing like that. She is respectful, confident, direct, and honest! She is also gentle, kind and conservative in her approach. She

My baby had her first ever dentist visit, and this office made it such a positive experience for both of us! The staff were all so friendly, patient, and gentle with her! They also offered me very helpful information for maintaining good oral hygiene at home. The office was also clean and cute. We loved all of the super hero decor! We are very excited to have found this neighborhood gem.

There simply isn't anybody better. I'm always amazed at how smoothly the staff works together. It makes me want to work there!!
All visits are fast, because the staff works so well together; every movement seems choreographed because they're so fluid. Their work is exceptional. I would recommend to family friends without hesitation.

Incredible staff!!! Special thank you to Candy and Dr Im, they always make my almost 3 year old sooooo comfortable! So much so that when I told my daughter her dentist appointment was coming up, she kept asking to go multiple times, saying how excited she was to get her teeth cleaned so she can get her balloon. Can't recommend this place enough, the receptionists are incredibly kind as well!

If you live in Poway and need a children's dentist, this is you place. My son had some cavities filled today. He was so nervous and was crying for nothing. When I tell you Megan was wonderful with him I mean it. It was like watching a big sister with her little brother. He is 8. She talked to him with respect and answered all of his questions. She never became annoyed. She kept his mind occupied. Dr. Im is incredible too..watching her work with my son was comforting. Took my son and daughter there and the staff and Dr Im was very professional, quick, talented and friendly. They both loved it.. Then I had to take my other son who is on the Spectrum for his first dentist appt. I gave them a heads up on how we have even had difficulty brushing teeth at home. The staff was very patient and kind including Dr Im. They were able to do a full exam (minus the x rays)! The one who I really have to give props to is Rachel who explained everything, was able to get him sitting in the chair and even cleaned and flossed his teeth! Then Rachel stood with my son the whole time

Kids need to brush their teeth and floss - and Dr. Ellen helps make the dreaded dentist visit a pleasant one. My son loves visiting the dentist after our first visit here and talks about coming here all the time. Even after our regular 6-months visit yesterday, he wanted to come back the next day. Highly recommend this office if you have kids!

Dr. Ellen Im has been a game changer for my son in such a positive way. Before Dr. Ellen, I was taking my child to a big San Diego chain pediatric dentist and we had an awful experience. They rushed, were not patient with my son, and did not give me options for his treatment. I felt stuck and unhappy with my son's experience. He definitely became traumatized after going there.
