The Bottos family came to America from Greece in 1969, landing in Philly and quickly making their way to West Chester, where they new they intended to build a business. After settling in the area, the family found an old bakery at 18 S Church Street that they renovated and turned into a pizza shop.
The original New Haven Pizza opened its doors in 1970. The Bottos family ran the shop from their original S Church Street establishment for 40 years until an opportunity to move a block north and into the true heart of town presented itself. In 2010, New Haven Pizza opened at 18 N Church Street.

This is my favorite pizza shop. Have to share a funny story. Ordered dinner for the family this evening which included a cheesesteak. Picked it up with my 12 year old and savored the wonderful smells of my favorite pizza shop. Upon arriving home my son darts from the car with the food and makes a b-line for Fortnite
I start to unpack the food and the cheesesteak is missing. I ask my son. Claims he hasn’t seen it. Call the shop and they graciously agree to replace though certain it had been in the bag. Drive back to my favorite pizza shop. The smells make me want more of their delicious food

If you're a fan of the blackened crust that seems to be a trend ruling out a lot of pizza joints for people like me who don't like the taste of charcoal, this is not the place for you.
If you like pizza crust that's light, slightly crispy, and unbrowned, then give New Haven's a try.
If you're a fan of thin-crust New York style pizza, as am I, you might be disappointed. New Haven's crust is thicker, and but not Sicilian thick. However, if you can like more than one style of pizza, you might find you can happily add New Haven's pizza to your list of favorites.

I want to preface this review by saying I used to live in CT and I have eaten pizza in New Haven and throughout the state so I had certain expectations based on the name.
This is very far from what I would consider to be New Haven style pizza. Its very run of the mill ordinary pizza without a true identity. I'm not saying the pizza was awful nor inedible but I will say it tasted like pizza I've had dozens of not hundreds of times in my lifetime from random pizzerias. Many people who go here given it's location probably won't have any elevated or specific expectation and they'll probably leave
