Therapeutic services for children and adults using therapies and interventions backed by scientific research (i.e., evidence-based) all in an effort to help make therapy successful for you. Personalized psychological evaluations conducted by a licensed psychologist to help clarify diagnostic issues, aid in treatment planning, or answer questions related to psychological functioning.

In-depth psychological assessments for those undergoing immigration proceedings (i.e., Immigration Evaluations) are also available in Spanish or English. I understand that selecting a professional like myself can be confusing, challenging, and at times overwhelming. You might find that a short telephone conversation is necessary; I highly recommend it.

I made the decision to become a psychologist when I was about 15 years old. At that age I witnessed someone close to me experience the positive effects of psychotherapy, an effect that reached even those people surrounding that person, myself included. I knew then that I too wanted to do something as meaningful and of benefit to others as that psychologist had done.
I am trained in different types of psychotherapy approaches, yet the type of psychotherapy I provide will depend on your specific needs and goals. Your success in treatment is what I care about the most. With this in mind, I opt for implementing those types of therapies or interventions that have been shown to be effective through research (often referred to as "evidence-based" treatment).
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR is a set of standardized protocols that incorporates elements from different treatment approaches. EMDR therapy is an integrative psychotherapy and uses a technique called bilateral stimulation to repeatedly activate opposite sides of the brain.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT is a short-term, problem-focused form of behavioral treatment that helps people see the difference between beliefs, thoughts and feelings, and free them from unhelpful patterns of behavior. CBT is grounded in the belief that it is a person's perception of events - rather than the events themselves - that determines how he or she will feel and act in response.
If you have had any variation of these thoughts and don't feel like your usual self, chances are you may be suffering from depression. Know that you are not alone and there are people who can help. Many of my clients find relief in realizing that their struggle does not own them and that there are many options available to once again have hope for their lives.
