Traditionally, in Joe Pilates' studio there were no group classes as we know them today. Clients basically did a "circuit" class. Each client had their own workout to complete, and they would circuit around the studio to complete their assigned exercises. Joe and Clara would oversee clients to ensure they were completing the exercises as instructed.
A Pilates circuit class at Praxi Pilates uses multiple apparatus, and is often taught in smaller groups that circuit around the studio, performing different exercises at the same time. You should expect to use the Pilates reformer, chair, Cadillac, and mat in a circuit class. You will flow from station to station in the circuit while getting an amazing workout and having fun with other clients.

I look forward to every class!! Carey is an amazing instructor and I’ve seen real results in just a few months. And a stronger core has led to improvements with all of my other work outs. Check out classes with Jeff and Andrea too. They may seem easier at first but then you feel that burn the next day. Whether you are new to Pilates or a seasoned pro - this spot is for you!!

I've been taking classes with Carey for quite some time now, and she balances challenge with inspiration perfectly (for all levels)! The studio is a peaceful, welcoming place that I look forward to entering after a long and hectic day. The other instructors (Jeff, Andrea, Kelly and Caroline) are all very good at what they do, and bring good karma into the space. So glad Praxi is here!

I have been a devotee of Pilates for several years now and have tried many different studios and different types of instructors. Praxi Pilates is, without question, my favorite studio environment and favorite group of instructors. The studio is spacious, equipped with all forms of Pilates and other exercise equipment and looks out onto a beautiful courtyard allowing for class time to feel like an escape from the realities of busy DC life. The instructors are all first-class in their knowledge and dedication to clients and their classes. This studio, the instructors and my fellow Pilates classmates

This review is so long overdue! Let me begin by saying that I am so glad that Carey finally decided to open her own Pilates studio. I met Carey four years ago when I started doing Pilates at a now closed studio that had locations in Clarendon, Shirlington, and Falls Church. I used to go to her classes three times a week, and when that studio closed, I was totally displaced. Who knew that a gym closure could have such an effect on a person? Carey then offered pop-up Pilates classes, which was great for her followers because it brought the community back together - at least for a weekend.

I have been following the owner Carey as an instructor to the different places she has been at for the last several years so I am so happy she has her own studio now. She is one of the best instructors I have worked out with -- she puts a lot of thought and planning into creating a challenging balanced class with a pilates-foundation for all of the exercises. She always is mixing things up, coming up with new moves, or finding a way to challenge you with some of the classics. The new studio is beautiful, bright, clean, modern, and a true pilates playground with a ton of space for reformer, mat

Carey is the ABSOLUTE BEST! I have been practicing pilates for more than ten years, and Carey is the best instructor I have ever worked with. I tried every pilates studio in the DC/MD/VA area, and NOTHING compared to Carey's classes (or her rates!!). She provides the best workouts, while effortlessly adjusting to various skill levels in each class. Before she purchased this new studio, I followed her around to various locations in the area because she is SO worth it. And now she has her own beautiful new studio!! I strongly encourage anyone who is looking to tone and shape their body while improving
