Hands down one of the BEST restaurants here. We don't even live in Summerville but came because my parents got us a gift card to this place and told us how good it was... well they weren't lying! I was going to order the cobia but they were out, and our server recommended the pork ribeye..
I rarely ever order meat but I was intrigued because I've never had pork ribeye.
IT WAS SO GOOD. So tender and juicy.. the mustard sauce it came with was on point as well. As were the mashed potatoes!
My husband ordered the fried chicken and I've never tasted more delicious fried chicken

What a great atmosphere. My wife and two daughters decided to give it a go during lunch hour on a weekday and were impressed with the neat outdoor dining/bar/play area. We opted to dine inside and were equally impressed with the old brick interior and pub like feel to it. The kids, of course, decided for chicken tenders and fries (awesome) and the wife had a fresh salad that was also great. Mine was a tad disappointment, I ordered the special which was a hot ham sandwich. I expected thick cut ham but instead it was just lunch meat between a lower quality bun. Friendly staff and great atmosphere, the fish on the menu was fried flounder but was offered to me grilled which I had and it was delicious. Excellent value, easy to see how the icehouse has earned these "reader's choice" awards. The home made desserts all sound incredible too, I had the buttermilk & lemon zest creme brulee (sounds odd but a refreshing twist on the creme brulee, made it seem lighter for after lunch). Sweet potato fries were awesome, took me a while to find sweet potato fries in this part of the world, and I was impressed to finally get some broccoli that wasn't steamed until it

Starla is an amazing server! She was extraordinarily helpful with the menu! This was our first visit here after several friends recommended this place! It's a great atmosphere with all the exposed brick and high ceilings; what a wonderful re-use of space! All the specials look fantastic and the beignets are a MUST if you get dessert! We went with the goat cheese, poached pear salad, she crab soup and blackened mahi-mahi. Everything was prepared to perfection and our server was absolutely the BEST! She made us feel like we were old friends from the get-go!

It's been awhile since we've received the type of service that we got here. It was exceptional. The Food was also great! Some of the best country fried steak I've eaten and I've tried it at a few places. I am happy that we have finally tried this place. It's a must visit if you're in the Summerville area! If you are a military, you also receive a discount everyday; not just Veterans Day. Also, the patio is dog friendly!

An excellent dinner and dining experience. The food is outstanding and cooked perfectly. Service is equally outstanding with impeccable timing (thank you Shane). Atmosphere is nice. A place to return and enjoy again. Highly recommended. The entrance is in the back of the building with parking on the left side and street.

This was always a go-to dinner place for us. Between the start of the pandemic and now, they managed to add items to the menu that made it even better. Make sure to order the Grilled Pork Ribeye -- it is amazing! We also ordered an old favorite, Shrimp & Grits. They used to serve it with a grit cake, now they have regular cheese grits. I actually like it better; so tasty. Finally, for dessert, try the Beignets (which they must have added to the menu recently)...you will love it! Get a cup of coffee with it. Some friends told us to try this place & it was some of the best food we’ve ever had!! The collard greens “wow” & the country fried steak (which I usually don’t like & never eat) we’re the best either of us have ever had & my husband likes Country Style steak. When I say the best I mean it!! Mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, grits, onion rings, sweet tea & margarita were all great!! I will eat here otw to Charleston from now own. Besides the food & drinks the waiter was also one of the best we’ve had! I would highly recommend trying this place if ever in the area!! 😋

My meal ranked average to below average..
The grits were cooked well but there was a sprinkle of grated cheese 🧀 on top (not mixed in) why not something special like guyere or asiago? My shrimp 🍤 was gritty and the broth was watery...
Definitely would NOT recommend! The cuisine seems to be lost somewhere between New Orleans and Low Country...
