The Red Pepper "an Italian eatery" is located on Main Street in Summerville, just west of historic Charleston, serving authentic Italian fare and offers a full line of liquor, Italian wines, and beer to complement your dining experience. The Red Pepper is a single-family-owned business. The owner's grandmother owned an Italian restaurant in Rochester, New York and that is where he began his training.
Our special mixture of butter, fresh garlic and herbs on an Italian baguette, topped with Gorgonzola cheese. Fresh mozzarella cheese riding in a "carriage" of egg-encrusted bread, then lightly breaded and fried. We serve two of them with your choice of either a honey mustard sauce or house pomodoro sauce.
Chilled fine slices of octopus (octopus salami carpaccio log). Served with diced smoked oysters, capers, and diced peppadew peppers drizzled with our carpaccio aioli. French Marbles des Alpes and Italian southern Caciocavallo Slices of bresada (air-dried aged beef) from the Italian Alpes Castelvetrano olives from the Valle del Belice region of southwestern Sicily A dry fig and apricot jam with pistachios.
This is a dense flour-less chocolate and hazelnut torte that is made from an old family recipe by the owner's wife. A chocolate lover's delight! Inspired by the colors of the Italian flag, this delightful confection has 3 bright layers of almond and raspberry flavored cake with a smooth chocolate coating.
The best raw materials are used to make Birra Moretti, as well as a special blend of high quality hops that gives it a unique taste and fragrance, enhancing its perfectly balanced bitter taste. Birra Moretti is an Italian brewing company, founded in Udine in 1859 by Luigi Moretti. Birra Moretti is the main brand, an abv pale lager launched in 1859; followed by LaRossa, a stronger dark lager.

The kiddos are working, it's date night for us so my wife & I 👫 decided to try this Italian restaurant in Summerville called The Red Pepper 🌶 just because like I said before we love trying new local places. We got to this little house 🏠 made into a restaurant with one way in & out parking so be careful when you go, BUT & IT'S A BIG "BUT"!!!! YOU'VE GOT TO TRY IT🤯🤩!!!!! OH HOLY NIGHT IT'S DELICIOUS😍😋🤤!!!! we started off with Mozzarella en Carrozza & Bruschetta alla Red Pepper for apps with salads in between my wife had the Parmigiana di Pollo & I had the Ravioli alla Zucca

Hands down on The Red Pepper. I went there with a group of women for lunch, but we were not offered the lunch menu. Instead the menu was limited to four selections without showing prices. When we received our checks, the prices were over twice as much as a lunch selection. Those who ordered drinks were charged $12.50. We each got a bill from $40 to $60 and that didn't include dessert. I was insulted to be treated like that and will never go back. Mary L

The food is excellent but very rich. I had their Lobster Ravioli and barely finished a very large portion. If you have digestive problems, I would suggest you eat only half the amount of portion they give you and take the rest home. Otherwise you might be spending some time in the restroom. Service was excellent. The reason I gave 4 stars is: My wife is partially disabled. Trying to maneuver a wheel chair on the parking lot area is a nightmare for handicapped ♿️ people. The parking lot is in need of a complete repair and restoration. Other than that I will be back to eat here. The building

Decided to try a new place last night... I was very disappointed as I not only didn't have a great tasting meal, I had to listen to a chef threaten and scream his head off for a good 10 minutes to his co worker. This affected the entire restaurant and as the servers were apologizing, they informed customers this happens often.. no matter how good that chef is, it definitely ruined the experience for not just me, but quite a few others. Definitely a little over priced, the garlic bread was allllll oil, the lasagna was cold. We will definitely not be returning nor wouldn't recommend this

We had been wanting to try this place out for a while. We came and very luckily got seated without having reservations. We were quickly greeted by the server and ordered Bruschetta from the Antipasto menu. It was very delicious and even filling by itself. I ordered their Spaghetti alla Amatriciana which was very tasty as well. Highly recommend giving this place a shot. Call and make reservations for a weekend night

We were so excited to eat here as we are out of town and love Italian.
We drove 20 minutes and arrived at 8:25 knowing they closed at 9. The hostess went around the corner to tell someone there was a table for two.
We then heard that person say "tell them the kitchen is closed."
We asked if they were just closed early today and she gave us a deer in headlights look.

We've been here twice now and the first time was fantastic! We had started out with a special octopus with giant capers that was one of the most delicious things we've ever tasted anywhere, and the lobster ravioli and fettuccine Bianca with seafood, both of which were amazing, even reheated the next day! My creamtini was also fantastic! An adorable little brick converted house that made us feel like we were in someone's home. Unfortunately, our second visit was not so great. Service was exceptionally slow, they got our pizza order wrong, and the excuse was that there was only one

Had very high hopes when coming here. Unfortunately I didn't enjoy most of my food. The calamari was more chewy than anticipated, didn't enjoy the mozzarella "carriage" at all (too soggy), the sauce for the stuffed shells was heavy with an odd taste and even the tirimisu left my mouth feeling coated and waxy. That being said, the service was great so 2 stars it is.

It was clean and the waitress was nice but the food wasn't that good, the sauce tasted like pure cinnamon in the penne alla bolognese. The salad was delicious but you have to eat the breadsticks it comes with first because they get hard within 60 seconds. The mozzarella appetizer wasn't that good either. It came out to $63, and my stomach was in shambles after I left. Everything seemed way over priced it was $3 for a soda... not recommended but always see for yourself.

True Italian food. Our experience was fantastic. The staff there knows their stuff, and can recommend you items if you are not sure what you want.
Comes with complimentary bread and oil, as well as a salad with each meal. Atmosphere is good as well. It feels like a true Italian place. Glad we came here. We got tired of eating fast food Italian.
They suggest wine depending on the type of meal you get that would compliment it, and if you are a wine drinker I suggest you give it a try.

The good: The mussels were amazing! I do wish they gave you regular bread for dipping but they had skinny slices, similar to a bread stick. The garlic wine sauce was on point though.
The salmon was dry and picatta underwhelming. More like olive oil with capers.
The chicken saltimbocca was terrible. Terrible. I'm not sure if the chicken or sage were burnt, maybe both. It left a horrible burn taste you couldn't get rid of.
When someone asks to clear your, less than half eaten, plate, they should ask why. No. We shook out heads to ourselves, paid the bill, and left.

Our 1st Time her and it did not disappoint! Kirsten was our waitress and let me just say she was absolutely amazing. Very sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. She was very patient with our questions. And she has a smile that can make anyone's day.
Now the food.
My husband got chicken Parm and they substituted the red sauce for Alfredo sauce bc he was worried about heartburn. They did it without any problem. He said it was delicious.
Kirsten also let us know that the chef takes most all the acid out of the red sauce to try and avoid heartburn. So that we know for next time.

Placed an online order for carry out and it looked like it didn't go thru so placed it again for $90 worth of food, it looked like it didn't go thru again, called the restaurant and the manager said "oh where not taking carry out order cause we only got one cook today" I said your website doesn't reflect that and you took $180 out of my bank account. He said we didn't that's our online ordering company and where not responsible for them. Have been eating here for over ten years and we're not going back. I get it that times are strange but that no excuse for

Pleasant dining room but it's a bit basic and the atmosphere is not reflective of the prices. The server (chris since he was good) was good and efficient but his personality was all star! My carpaccio appetizer was fresh and flavorful. My husband had red pepper soup and it was really good. I got veal for dinner and it was fine but didn't blow my socks off. My husband had the Marsala and he said it was bland but he ate it all so?? My son had the carbonara and he reported it was edible (aka fine in teenage boy speak) He said it was good and cheesy but not overly cheesy. I'm

Very pretty space inside, set in an old historic home. Still feels homey and rustic with exposed brick peppered throughout the walls. Feels like it would be a nice spot to hold a reception with different rooms flowing into one another. I do appreciate a good antique bar and honey they've got one.
We sat in one of the main dining rooms to the right of the bar, around 2pm today, only folks there. (A couple did walk in as we were leaving!) We enjoyed some decent focaccia, mozzarella, and calamari. Calamari was a bit salty but otherwise tasty. Our entrees were also alright; if you too love cooking
