Services
Your southern Utah vacation experience just got better: Welcome to the Best Friends Roadhouse and Mercantile, the latest (and greatest) lodging option among Kanab's fast-growing hotel and motel offerings. Located in the heart of Kanab, Utah, just five miles south of Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, the Best Friends Roadhouse & Mercantile welcomes pets and their people.
Sit down, relax and shake that beautiful red dust from your shoes after a busy day. The Roadhouse was thoughtfully designed to include every creature comfort. And when we say "creature, " we mean it. Our guest rooms and amenities will bring delight to both our human guests and our furry visitors.
Each room is named for a beloved Best Friends alumni animal, and the foyers are designed to keep pets safely in the room as you come in and out (we're thinking of you, ninja door dashers).Pets also have their own sleeping nooks or comfy beds (in select rooms)-right next to their people, of course.

The Mercantile building is open to the public and provides a welcoming common area where you can purchase prepared food items, pet necessities, and Best Friends- and Roadhouse- branded merchandise and mementoes, as well as a selection of outdoor and travel items. Coffee is available in the Mercantile building beginning at 6:30 a.m.
Kanab is often referred to as "the greatest Earth on show, " and rightly so. Centrally located (within a 90-minute drive of nearly every attraction and adventure that southern Utah has to offer), Kanab serves as the destination for everything visitors and adventure seekers hope to do. The city is also called Little Hollywood because of its Western film and TV history over the years.
Working remotely doesn't mean you and your pets have to stay home. Reserve your Roadhouse room and enjoy an office with the greatest view. Spend your mornings in meetings using our high-speed Wi-Fi, and spend your afternoons kayaking, hiking the canyons, sandboarding the dunes and visiting with 1,000 animals at the Sanctuary, located just five miles away.

If you have not been here, you must go! Everything from the amazing staff, to the incredibly comfortable beds, to the awesome toiletries and beautifully designed rooms, plus getting to bring a dog from the sanctuary overnight to stay with you. We had the most wonderful time here and can’t wait to return!!

This is such a special place, we were staying for the thanksgiving weekend, since it was the closest place to Zion that accepted pets. This place is beautiful, the rooms are spacious, modern and extra mega clean. I’m so happy to have found this place specifically catered to pet owners. Great job and I hope the best for this place! Its a very special place!

There is something spectacular about this place. From the unassuming exterior, you are transported to a wonderful loving experience for any pet owner. The modern technology is blended wonderfully with the comforts and creature features to make any traveler with their fur kids a must visit.
I won't even get into the wonder mission of the animal sanctuary, but it is a must see.
And in case you didn't get to bring the fur babies, there are sleepover options. That's right, you can help acclimate various pets (cats, dogs, and bunnies) and have them stay with you during your visit.

We had an amazing time here. On top of being ultra-pet friendly, they welcome you with a cookie, have laundry facilities, a coffee/gift shop where you can grab snacks and other goodies, a neat 2-story/3-bed option w/ kitchenette, and wonderful service. We happened to be there when it was 110 F and the power went out in the entire county; as tourists, we were nervous about finding dinner and what would happen after dark. They gave us regular updates on the situation, provided a flashlight, and directed us to a local grocery store that was still open in spite of the outage. We really appreciated

Most incredible hotel experience! We stayed here for the first time with our 9 year old Labrador. The hotel was immaculate and comfortable for humans, and our sweet pup was even more comfortable. Everything was so wonderfully designed— cruelty free products, pull out animal bed, vegan pastries, pet water fountains, splash zone/ amazing animal park, pet wash, and even complimentary laundry. The staff was so accommodating and kind. You can tell they absolutely work for Best Friends out of their overflowing love for these sentient animals. We felt right at home, and we cannot wait to come back to
