Kumari Restaurant & Bar is a gateway to the culture, tradition and culinary experience to our customers a unique homely taste, a quality service and a great dining experience. It's quite large and isn't loud with music like some other places. The buffet is great for lunch. A table for two came out to just 20 bucks.

Kumari is bomb! I go all the time. I have introduced many friends to this place. Their customer service is why I come to them (there are 2 other Indian restaurants near them). If you go, try the chai tea latte, while you wait for your food. I always order meat samosas for appetizer and lamb biryani for my meal! :) You can’t go wrong with that order I just gave you.

Unfortunately, not a big fan. I ordered for delivery, and it did arrive fast. Super fast. Which was great. And it was piping hot. I tried both Chicken Vindaloo and Butter Chicken. Those two things usually are very similar no matter where you get them from. But these are definitely different than usual. The Butter Chicken is way more tomato based than Cream than usual. It's not bad, just different. The Vindaloo, despite requesting "Indian Hot" really wasn't all that spicy, but the flavor was OK. What really killed it for me was 3 pieces of chicken still having bones in it, and the meat not being

I thought of giving them a try and ordered doordash such a disappointment. I’m a nepali myself and am familiar with all kinds of nepali food. Specially chicken choila that I grew up eating. I order the same, chicken choila. They sent me the dish swimming in vegetable oil the chicken were burnt black and was very cold as if they were just out from the freezer. I called the restaurant to let them know but the guy was making it look like there was nothing wrong with the dish and that’s how the dish is made. I’ve been eating the dish since I was a kid and I know exactly how they’re made and

I got malai kofta and aloo zeer for takeout and they were both outstanding. The kofta sauce was a bit sweet, but not off-putting, and the medium spice aloo zeer still required a side of milk, but that's the amount of heat I like. Also got a side of onion kulcha with it and may never go back to naan. Prices were reasonable and I've gotten 3 meals of leftovers (and counting) out of it. Staff was nice and patient, food was ready in a hurry and the stroll through low-key hipster Mt. Vernon capped off a pleasant experience. Definitely will come back next time I need my Indian food fix.

It was my first time ever trying any type of Indian cuisine. The food was delicious and the waitstaff was informative and patient with me. I chose the buffet so I could get a little taste of everything and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Now that I know that I love the food I will definitely be back for seconds and thirds.
