Services
Patterson Family Dentistry, P.C. exists to provide high quality dental care to its patients in a comfortable, timely and efficient manner. Our mission is to do so while maintaining a friendly and caring atmosphere for our patients as well as our employees. We feel it is our responsibility to educate patients on their options so that they can make an informed decision that is best for them.
At Patterson Family Dentistry, P.C., we feel it is in the best interests of the patient to be seen for a complete or comprehensive exam before having any treatment completed. However, we will always see new patients for a limited emergency exam if needed. A comprehensive exam allows us to fully evaluate your oral health so that any decisions that may need to be made are done so with all relevant information at hand.
We are always looking for ways to increase dental treatment quality and accuracy for our patients. In 2011, our practice invested in soft tissue laser technology. The Picasso Laser is a "soft tissue laser" that further bolsters our current procedures and allows us to offer more procedures inhouse rather than referring them out.
Use an ADA (American Dental Association) approved toothpaste; such approval implies proper fluoride content. Do NOT rinse, eat or drink for 30 minutes after brushing. Doing such will rinse the fluoride out of your mouth instead of having time to absorb into your teeth. Simply "snapping" floss through is not enough; the floss must slide below the edge of your gums to remove plaque and debris from below the gumline.
What many people do not realize about fluoride is that it often occurs naturally in wells that are used to obtain drinking water. Some wells have none, some have the recommended amount according to the ADA, and some have excessive amounts that can cause staining and improper tooth development called fluorosis.
