Erik and Tom decided they had to find a new way to make things work in better favor for the actual artist and to give their clients an overall better tattooing experience.

Chris did my bridge piercing here in October. I had a lot of trouble finding a shop to do it and one place recommended me to go here. Bridge piercings are tough ones but he helped me with everything. I am most impressed with his ability to take ‘criticism’, and help accommodate you to all your questions and needs. We spent 10 minutes just lining up the piercing so I could feel the best about the placement. I am very thankful I went to him! I never write reviews but this place deserves it. Steady and equitable environment with a good crew

What a great experience for my first tattoo. Was I a bit nervous...lol...yes, but Tom was AMAZING since first met at consultation. He takes the time and patience with you, so you love your tattoo. Defintely could have a side job as a comedian 😂. He is such a character and puts you at ease and defintely wants you to LOVE your tattoo. This place… is amazingly clean and Christina thank you so much for your help on my decision making too. I have 45 minutes before I get to unwrap my tattoo and admire it. I do love it Tom! Thank you so much! I will be back as much as I said only one..lol

Popped in for a quick cartilage piercing this afternoon and it was basically like we were just hanging out. Everybody there was super regular and made it feel really comfortable. Chris, the piercer, was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, kind, and super efficient. Will definitely be going back for any future piercing/tattoo needs!

So happy I was referred here. Shop is clean and professional. Tom and Erik are great and incredibly talented. I am three sittings into a Halloween piece that Tom drew up for me. This was significant, as I had… previously worked with an artist who had been critical and rigid about my concept. Tom, on the other hand, was excited and created something amazing. Exactly what I wanted. He is easy to work with and responsive to feedback. Can’t wait to see the finished piece and look forward to others in the future.

Vital Ink Tattoo has two of the most amazing artists in the Seacoast area. I have been getting tattooed by Erik Hilliker for several years now and he is absolutely my artist of choice. What's great about him and Tom both is that if you go to them with ideas, they are so artistically inclined that they will take your tiniest speck of inspiration and make it into something so beautiful, you will be absolutely amazed. And if you ask them for something that is not necessarily their style or comfortable doing, they are more than happy to refer you out to a fellow artist. Neither do it for the money

The good: Vital Ink did a good job on my tattoo. They have a clean and comfortable environment. They have great software for designing and modifying designs on the spot. They have seasoned artists, so you feel comfortable with their guidance.
The not so good: I have been unsuccessful at scheduling a follow up appointment to touch up a couple lines that came in light. And during the tattoo one of the guns was not functioning as it should.
To someone looking for a tattoo, I definitely recommend checking this place out.

Great artists, clean shop - TOP NOTCH! I have gone to another shop/ artist in the past, but wanted to get something different. Went with my 18-year-old daughter and it was a great experience. Tom (and his apprentice) were super friendly, open minded and had creative recommendations. Environment was perfect - clean with new tattoo chairs and equipment. The piece itself is solid with clean lines and expert shading. They were great with my daughter as a first- timer and took the time to explain everything. I'm a happy customer and will be going back!

Just had my first tattoo completed by Erik and I could not be happier! My boyfriend has been going to Erik for years and when I decided to get a tattoo I knew Erik was the guy for the job. Not only is his artwork beautiful and one of a kind but he is extremely knowledgeable and a lot of fun to work with. I would highly recommend vital ink to anyone looking for some high quality work.
