Paid $50 for my dress to get a hack job hem. It’s clunky, flares and rolls up. It’s all over poorly done.
When I was there I had multiple concerns and wanted more than just the dress to be hemmed and the women who helped me insisted none of those things were issues and once she hemmed it everything would come together. It did not.
Took her 3 weeks to ruin my dress and now I have 4 days to find a new bridesmaid dress.

If you're looking for well done work at fair prices, this is the place! I had a beautiful, strapless blue jumpsuit taken in that required working with boning in the bodice. I was offered a solution that transformed the piece into something that is incredibly beautiful. It was for my wedding and friends consistently commented about the outfits' fit. The appointments were efficient and the communication was clear about what could be achieved in what time frame. I have found a new favorite tailor!

Had 2 turtleneck top sleeves hemmed. First day I wore number one top, noticed a small hole right under seam of sleeve, not in seam. Thought maybe because it was thin material that this may have been caused. Returned to store (online) and received refund.
Number two top, day one of wearing it, I noticed very same thing! It was in the same spot and right under the seam, not in it. Material was thick so had nothing to do w/ material. Am really just shocked that this could happen and twice! Never had this happen anywhere else!

I had the best experience with Zanobia alterations! One of my favorite dresses sustained a break in the zipper, rendering this beautiful piece completely unwearable. I met with her, who shared with me that it could be a tough fix due to the unique color of the dress, also because it was a hidden or internalized zipper it would be a challenge. She communicated very professionally with me via email regarding the process – – which unfortunately did take numerous weeks because it required custom ordering a zipper from a separate manufacturer. I have been taking my clothes here for decades. Zanobia has spruced up the place, and has moved it into the 21st century with eco sensitive cleaning agents and excellent customer care. Not incidentally my clothes look great! Conveniently close to 9th St this is what you want in a shop that cares for your clothes.

Farheen, the owner here is super to work with! I needed an alteration on a pair of slacks that wasn't easy to do. She clearly laid out some options for the fix, telling me the pros and cons of each so I could choose the best at a very reasonable price--- and provided a great result. Zanobia did a terrific job hemming and tapering some pants for me. I was in a bit of pinch due to Covid and having to cancel a tux, all while getting married in just a few weeks.
