It really turned out to be the best day of both of our lives (so far) and I think that the music was a huge part of the success of the reception! We've had so many compliments from friends and family about the playlist and the general energy of the wedding so we just wanted to share our gratitude with you.
I started as a radio DJ (KAOS, KCMU), but made my reputation in the clubs as an excellent old-school DJ. From my first mobile gig in late 1997, where I had to rent equipment (including a mirror ball!), it took me about a year and a half to build it up to where I could actually call it a business. All my clients in the early years were via word-of-mouth.
Amid in the old-world elegance of the recently-refurbished Corson Building in Seattle's historic Georgetown neighborhood, the new Mr. & Mrs. Sarich stopped off for a gourmet dinner, craft cocktails, a champagne toast and a bit of dancing between their church wedding and their honeymoon. The biggest and most ambitious wedding we've ever done.

Kevin was the DJ for our wedding last weekend and he was phenomenal. Incredibly communicative in the time leading up to the wedding, checked in the days before, arrived right on time day of, and quickly got set up. We gave him a large library of tunes we wanted to hear, and he sprinkled in a few other crowd pleasers as well. He made for a successful event!

Disco Royale made our wedding day the dream come true we knew it could be! Being a "June Bride" was something I dreamed of, and Kevin delivered all of the best. We gave him several tunes that gave him an idea of the romantic mood we wanted on our special day and he ran with the rest of it. We couldn't think of all the music that would deliver the whole mood but he was able to suggest everything that filled in all the gaps. I see that Kevin of Disco Royale has given his feedback and sadly, it's personal. This is a business relationship and he made it personal. That is not being professional.
All my claims about what I wanted and what I told him can be backed up by emails. I repeatedly told him that this was the music I chose to be played. If he didn't want to play the exact music, he just had to say so and we would have parted ways. Instead, he said yes and took my money.
The bottom line is that you pay a DJ hundreds of dollars (sometimes thousands) and you should get the songs you ask for

Kevin was the DJ at our wedding this last summer in Woodinville, and he was awesome. He covered the music for both the reception and ceremony. He was very easy to work with and quick to respond to any questions. He clearly has a ton of knowledge and experience. I felt like he knew exactly the right songs to play at the perfect times. Everyone had a great time dancing and we'll never forget that night.

Long story short, Kevin is very reasonably priced, and unreasonably skilled. LOCK HIM DOWN FOR YOUR BIG DAY.
My then-fiancee and I have divergent music tastes, but Kevin saw beyond our specific requests and totally understood what kind of sound we wanted. Everything he played was a crowd-pleaser, perfectly apropos, from outdoor reception to post-last-dance wind-down.

Kevin was incredibly nice, professional, and flexible. My husband and I were planning our wedding remotely, and Kevin was very flexible in agreeing to have Skype meetings instead of face-to-face meetings when we couldn't make it to Seattle, and he was full of great feedback and experience that helped make our day perfect. Kevin did a great job at our wedding last weekend as our DJ. From the beginning he has been professional and has listened to our requests while offering great suggestions. On the day of the wedding Kevin also helped make things smoothly by being a great emcee (also helped us by asking questions we either didn't think of or forgot about prior to the wedding), and was on top of any last minute requests and schedule changes. Owner of Disco Royale (Kevin Olson) verbally agreed to perform services and on cost. Given our wedding was on a non busy day, allowing a lower price. Few days later fully reneged on performing services and price. Passing us onto someone else which he said may or may not be available. Went on to mention how he performs only "high end weddings" and cannot "go back to lower priced ones". VERY unprofessional business method. Do NOT recommend.

We recently used Disco Royale for our wedding ceremony and reception. Kevin did an AWESOME job! He was easy to work with and very flexible (we had some last minute music choices for the ceremony). Everything went very smoothly. I was worried about the sound and of course the microphone crackling or cutting out ( I have witnessed this at numerous wedding I have been to) but we didn't have any of those problems =) He had the speakers set up in the best position so everyone could hear the speeches (Our wedding was at The Canal, which has a very interesting layout for sound). Kevin at Disco Royale was the perfect choice for our wedding. He worked with us well in advance of the wedding to get a feeling for what we wanted, checked back in a week or so before to make sure everything was on track, and even helped us pick our father-daughter song 2 days before the wedding... and this is the key part... without giving us grief or pressure! Kevin and Disco Royale are awesome! He was the wedding DJ for my sister's wedding and my wedding. He was also the DJ for my fathers birthday party. Kevin just knows what music to play, he has a lot experience and it shows. He is friendly and easy to work with. People couldn't stop dancing, including me, at our wedding. Kevin is on time, on the ball, and on point. He was the PERFECT wedding DJ and emcee for our special day. He accommodated all of our special (and quirky) requests like the pro he is! Kevin from Disco Royale was great! My husband and I are both full time students and so we were trying to do our wedding on a budget, Kevin worked with our budget and gave us a great deal. He did above and beyond in helping to make our day perfect. He even edited our favorite songs so that we could use them in our ceremony to make it even more personal. Our wedding was intimate and casual, but Kevin put all his efforts in and helped make it a day we will never forget. We hired Kevin at Disco Royale to DJ our wedding. He did a GREAT job of taking conversations with my (now) husband and I and turning that into a perfect soundtrack for the evening. He hit it out of the park! He had great suggestions and guidance to help us think about all of the specific songs we needed to pick and did not play ONE song we didn't love. He has GREAT instincts and does an amazingly gentle but powerful job of Emceeing where guests felt guided but not bossed around. We highly recommend Kevin and would hire him again in a heartbeat!
