Services
Starting Points preschools promote children to the next class according to the developmental ability of each child and available space. Children at the preschool center will have a period of visitation (the amount of visitation time depends on the individual child). Children will visit their new class off and on for approximately one month.
Infants and Toddlers need a safe and healthy environment but above all they need to feel loved. Starting Points provides a loving, nurturing and stimulating environment that helps infants/toddlers with the important early development of the brain and lays a foundation for intellectual growth, emotional health and a positive self-image.
Starting Points understands the need for two year olds to explore their surroundings in asafe manner. Two year olds are extremely lively and have plenty of energy. They need to be individually challenged and have a feeling of importance as well as security. Starting Points helps children to flourish by balancing play and self-discovery with teacher directed activities.
Preschoolers are an energetic group that needs plenty of exposure to interesting and creative learning opportunities. They need the feeling of love and security with plenty of room for the exploration of their surroundings and new activities. Through self-discovery and teacher direction there will be plenty of experiences to help expand your child's natural development and lead to a happy, confident learner.
Starting Points provides after school pick up at Farragut Primary, Farragut Intermediate, and Hardin Valley Elementary schools. The after school program offers children a variety of activities to choose from as well as a place for quiet time and homework. There are several interest and activity areas open around the room.

We love this school and feel like it has had such a positive influence on our 4 years old's social, emotional, and academic development. I feel like I'm on a team with the teachers and we're all working toward what's best for my child. I'm lucky to have found this place and would definitely recommend it to others!

We've had a really wonderful experience with our oldest child and look forward to sending our youngest to Starting Points. The education is child led and instructor directed; the curriculum covers plenty of pre-school academics and educational themes, but also covers a lot of social and emotional development. The classrooms and outdoor areas are full of interesting activities and are well designed to fully engage young minds and foster learning, creativity, and community. We especially love the focus on nature and outdoor education. Unlike many child care facilities, the staff at SP are the same

The below review is very untrue and unfair to Starting Points. Not only do they care and love the children they are molding, but they treat their employees very well. You are given advance notice of things you could be doing wrong in order to fix those problems and continue your work there. It is much like a family. I would recommend anyone to work or send their children there. The below review is false and nasty. Janice and Kathy care about the employees as much as the children in their care

The director, Kathy, is a wonderful person, but she has too much on her plate. Couple that with the fact that she is afraid of confrontation creates a leader who is incapable of having hard discussions with her employees. Janice, the owner, and Kathy do not have their employees backs and do things such as acting like they don’t care if someone is late even though it bothers them. You are supposed to get warnings before being fire over tardiness and someone was recently fired for being late even they didn’t follow their own protocol. This employee did not get the number of warnings she was supposed

I could go on and on and on why we would recommend this daycare to anyone but I'll do my best to keep it short. Both of my kids have gone there since birth. One is now in their afterschool program and 8 years later we wouldn't change a thing. The teachers have been there for years and the love and dedication they have for the kids, and teaching them is unbelievable. But what I love the most about it (Outside of the teachers) is how much time these babies spend outside, they learn by playing and doing and the outdoor playgrounds are unlike anything else I visited at a Knoxville daycare. If you are

If it's possible to give zero stars I would. I would never recommend this daycare ever! The director was horrible to talk w and attacked me on a personal level. Some of the teachers were not respectful to parents and I don't feel like the children were properly cared for as there were WAY to many biting accidents for a one teacher to 4 one year olds ratio! I reported their behavior to one of my friends who works for DCS. So glad to be away from them! It's been wonderful for our family to cut ties w them!

I am an educator and Mom and all 3 of my children have attended Starting Points. Currently my 2 year old attends and I can’t rate this establishment high enough! As a kindergarten teacher I know the importance of giving your child a great foundation and Starting Points is my number 1 choice! The teachers have degrees in early childhood and continue their education and training throughout each year. They offer a hands on learning based atomsphere that promotes the whole child. Their teacher/child ratio is low and infants to school aged children are given the best care! Every room has posted lesson
