Services
We believe children are the best patients we could ask for-they're fun, they're brave, and their curious minds inspire us every day. Dr. Butler and each member of her staff understand the importance of the whole family in the overall health of a child. Together, we can establish great habits and treat any problems early enough to help create a beautiful smile that will persist throughout your child's life.
Dr. Butler-though originally from Baltimore, Maryland-loves her adopted home in the Pacific Northwest. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree at Hood College and her Doctor of Medical Dentistry from Tufts University, she continued her studies at a residency program at the Children's Hospital of Michigan, which, among other things, specializes in developing and rehabilitating cleft palate infants.
We partner with local area orthodontists to coordinate care for your child. While orthodontic treatment may not always be necessary, a growth analysis of your child's growth and development will allow Dr Pam to recommend orthodontic treatment when it is ideal.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children receive an initial orthodontic evaluation no later than age 7. It's at this age that the first adult molars erupt, establishing the back bite.Early orthodontic evaluation provides both timely detection of problems and greater opportunity for more effective treatment at Under the Sea Dentistry.

Our goal here at Under the Sea Dentistry for Children is to ensure that every child receives the greatest dental care during every visit. We understand that not every child has the same dental needs. While providing personal care, our staff is highly trained to offer a gentle and pleasing experience for our little friends.
We work with several different insurance providers and are happy to file your claim for you. Please bring your insurance information on the day of your child's appointment. We file all claims electronically, and will forward along any balance left on your account after 30 days. We request that you pay that balance, whether your insurance has paid its share yet or not (we'll certainly send you a refund once your insurance company does pay).

Finding Under the Sea Dentistry has been the difference between my kiddo receiving proper dental care and not. Previously we had her with another dentist office she was very traumatized and was put in the special room. I was refereed to Under the Sea by my neighbor and hands down is my best referral I have ever gotten in my life. I explained to the Front Desk telling them that they might need to sedate her and Dr. Pam wanted the chance to see if she could work with her without needing to sedate her. I thought she was plum crazy but I saddled up and went with it. We are 4 visits into seeing her

Absolutely wonderful place. Very friendly staff, appointment was right on time. They are honestly so nice and make you feel super comfortable. My daughter had her first appointment there and she kept talking about how great was her first experience and how she was excited to go back for her next one. Highly recommended.

I brought my children here on a recommendation from an orthodontist office.
The hygienist was very kind to my children, and made even my most anxious child (diagnosed with anxiety) comfortable and happy. The dentist was gentle and thorough and took the time to go over my areas of concern twice to make sure everything was okay.
I don't have any issues following the COVID protocols. Having only one parent and no access to a waiting room are par for the course at this point.
We had a great experience and I would recommend.

Very friendly staff and really know how to engage with my 5 year old. It is really fun to see how your kids interact with other adults that are not family coming out of Covid. Not only are they great at dentistry but they have talent in keeping my daughter happy and interested in the process. The office is really fun and decorated over the top and it kept my daughter and I looking all over and having fun if we were waiting (maybe 4 min). Love Dentist Pam and will be back.

I recently brought my toddler here for a first appointment. If the goal, as I’m constantly told, of a first dentist appointment is to get a kid comfortable with the experience and place, then this experience deserves a negative 5. Some of it is Covid issues- their waiting room is closed, and they only allow one parents (which they didn’t tell us ahead of time in spite of me asking for info, so my husband had to wait in the car). But some is plain unacceptable. No one made an effort to get on her level and introduce themselves and engage her. We were left waiting for over 30 min, and this is

From the moment we walked in the staff made my two year old feel welcome and comfortable. Vanessa brought us back to an exam chair where she took time to introduce my child to dentistry. This was his first visit to the dentist and he wasn’t sure what to expect. Vanessa took as much time as my child needed to introduce him to each instrument and made it fun. He’s looking forward to his next visit, as am I. Wonderful care from Vanessa, Dr. Pam and all of the staff. I highly recommend Under The Sea Dentistry!

I wanted to share my amazing experience with Under the Sea Dentistry. Prior to going to Under the Sea Dentistry, my daughter was being seen at another local dental office and they recommended putting her under general anesthesia. She was 4 at the time and putting her under, at such a young age, made me really uncomfortable. I shared this with the other office and they said I should get a second opinion then and I am so glad that I did. The staff listened to me and my concerns, they explained to me that this is normal for kids my daughters age, but they heard my concerns and said they would try

Wonderful! Highly recommend even during this challenging time. I'm sure when they can operate as usual it will be even better. My highly cautious and observant 3 yr. old son was very at ease with Noel the Dental Assistant/Hygienist? And he let her do everything and even enjoyed conversing with her. He's very friendly and likes to "chat". When she was done with her part to call in the dentist, he jumped off the chair ready to go expecting needles or frightening tools when the dentist comes in. He's dental history was being seeing at Everyone By One in Bellevue, WA by Dr. Chung----highly recommended

My son will be 11, we have been taking him to see Dr. Pam Butler he was 18 months old for his very first check up. We love her, and she always has great staff that really take your care of my son. Thanks to her training me to teach my son good dental hygiene he hasn't had a cavity. My son also enjoys going there, he has never had a negative experience.
