Is something getting in the way - keeping you stuck - from truly living life and experiencing joy? Feeling lost and disconnected from ourselves can be a very lonely experience and can cause overwhelming fear, anxiety and depression. At New Connections, we specialize in providing safe spaces where folks can step outside of their everyday experiences and get back in touch with forgotten or unknown parts of themselves.
Maybe you struggle with self-worth and are afraid to tell anyone because you worry your faade will be shattered. You quietly suffer from anxiety and since you look strong on the outside, nobody suspects the turmoil going on inside you. Maybe you feel like you don't have true relationships because you're so afraid to be real.

Services
Are you experiencing challenges in exploring your gender identity? Maybe you are isolated and feeling lonely in your exploration or transition. Or you may be experiencing anxiety about coming out to family and friends. Wherever you are in this process, I will meet you there and help you to achieve gender empowerment.
When we talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. We realize that no two people are the same and as such tailor our therapy to meet the specific needs of our clients. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression or any other issue, we will help you recognize underlying problems, fully realize your strengths and adjust certain behaviors and thoughts to see things a different, healthier way.
Are you questioning whether you drink too much on a daily basis or are having "too" much fun on the weekend with recreational drug use? Maybe you wonder how your friends are able to stop after one or two drinks, but you continue to drink to excess. I specialize in helping those who struggle with problematic drinking and substance use and also work with those who are suffering related to their loved one's struggle with addiction.

Are you struggling to cope with the pain or symptoms associated with a trauma? Maybe you have been abused, suffered a significant loss, or witnessed violence at home or in your community. Another area I specialize in is cultural identity. Does being bicultural stress you out? Leave you feeling unsure where you belong, or what box to check off?

I highly recommend the entire team at New Connections Counseling Center. The clinicians are skilled, warm, empathetic, and have a breadth of experience. The team works hard to create a safe and open space for all. The office is also beautiful and welcoming! I would recommend the practice to anyone seeing therapy.
