Finally made the stop at David Fong's for lunch. I would sum it up as the quintessential American Chinese restaurant. We showed up on a Saturday afternoon and were promptly meet by the hostess and seated. Our server was right there with waters and said he would be back. There were three of us for lunch. One of us ordered off the lunch special menu (get a smaller portion of a select main dish, either fried egg roll or fried cream cheese wanton and fried rice. Other two ordered off the main menu. The lunch special was ok. But the mustard that came with the egg roll was phenomenal!

One, if not the best and most consistent Chinese food restaurants in the metro. Superior service and pours that are never wanting. The speed at which appetizers are prepared and served is top tier in the foodservice industry. One of my favorites is the service of placing food on your plate from the serving dish as they serve you with a family-style feel of keeping the serving dishes on the table.

First time here and I love the restaurant atmosphere it’s very nice and cozy inside the server was great but foods wasn’t that great. My fried rice was super hard and it tasted just like rice mix with soy sauce and the chicken in my stir fried was so tough also it was $$ pricy too nothing impressed me in this place I don’t know if I come back in my opinion.

THIS IS NO LONGER A GREAT PLACE TO EAT!
My husband and I have stopped in for a drink and dinner since 1985. It has ALWAYS been one of our favorites. Food had great flavors and the food was alway served piping hot!
Today we are saying "Good-bye" to an old tradition! We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon at 3:30 PM. Not too much going on...about 15 patrons in the place. The waitor was very attentive. He took our order and brought us drinks. When the food was served it was barely warm. The chicken in my dish was NOT FRESH. My husband remarked that his chicken tasted old and our companion

I had a very nice dining experience in this restaurant. The staff was extremely friendly & helped us with choosing the right dish to order. I ordered the stir fried chicken lo mein noodles & it was pretty good. The staff also helped my friend who is a vegetarian in ordering a dish without meat, egg & shrimp. Overall good food & have given one star extra for the friendly staff. Thank you !

Oh, no!!! What happened to this place?? I've come here for decades and am sooo disappointed in what it's become. If you eat in the bar, your server splits his time with bartending. It's very rushed service because of this. The prices have gotten outrageous. Honey Walnut Shrimp went from $14.95 (Friday special price) to $25.95! Teriyaki Steak went from $17.95 to $32.xx! The Potstickers were inedible... very obvious they were store-bought frozen. Horrible. Fong's has always been a reliable standby for us as far as price, service and quality goes. Until now. We understand

My family came here for dinner one night and we did have a nice time. I like they have a large parking lot. this is definitely a "white person chinese restaurant" so if that's what you're looking for come on in. we liked the sweet and sour sauce that came with our cream cheese wontons. i got the seasame chicken, i have had better elsewhere. the chicken was sort of.. stringy? i do think it was slightly over priced for the quality. overall, a pretty average chinese restaurant that is reliably "good"

Ordered chicken chow mein, egg foo young and fried rice. The egg foo young was tough and dry. The chicken in the chow mein was so dry and everything was mushy and covered in brown thick lukewarm gravy. The rice was salty brown rice. Everything tasted like it was in a buffet for hours. The wine was good. If you like a plate of brown salty food this is the place. I relayed this information to the server - no response. They were closing soon so the spray bleach they were using was permeating the food which did not help. Left the food. I'll come back and order something less brown because

I'm just gonna start out by saying I am from the San Francisco Bay Area. I tell my wife never to pick a Chinese restaurant in any state because it's NOT THE SAME as the Bay Area! I went here because of high reviews. The people here I'm sorry to say don't know what Chinese food is supposed to taste like. They said fresh but the mushrooms were from a can, I can tell. The chicken although was white meat , a plus, was dry. The fried rice was kind of a sweet taste and super brown ? Like brown rice? Not fried rice. BEAUTIFUL PLACE but I'm sorry not to my California expectations

My family comes here a lot for family birthdays and most seem to really enjoy it. They have a good selection of drinks and just one is enough to give you a kick...Food is a mix of Chinese and American. Most dishes come with white rice (or fried for more $). A really great place if you like ordering several things and sharing/tasting all fo them. The honey walnut shrimp is a family favorite.

This establishment I would classify as a "Classic" and I like classics because it isn't always the quality of the food you receive but it is that warm familiar welcome you feel when you walk in and see those red Naugahyde booths, loose bar stools, servers that you would want to sit down at your table and let them share some stories of the early years of the place.
Anyway, this place/space is big and we apparently didn't enter the front door. Came right into a bar area... not really sure it is Fongs exactly but we made heads turn when we walked in looking for the restaurant

Decor is unique. Employees were nice. Patrons are not a good sign for another 60 years. We had to have been the only people under 40 in there who weren't employees. After our meal I can see why.
Sadly I'm interested in food as bad service won't kill me. Simply put it is the worst meal I have ever been served. My wife and I ordered the dinner for two. Soups ok but certainly not great. Appetizers meh. Cheese puffs were stale and clearly not fresh. And who splits an egg roll... Talk about penny pinching. The main course had bad sauce and what I believe to be either old, freezer burned

There are a ton of Chinese places around the metro but this one is just a little different and it's delicious! They have take out that is ready in ten minutes if you're looking for a quick bite to eat. Their lunch combos are great and cheap!
They have your typical Chinese dishes. One of my favorites is the sweet and sour chicken. Usually sweet and sour chicken is that fried chicken and then you add that weird pink sauce right? David Fongs sweet and sour chicken comes with tomatoes, green peppers and pineapples mixed in and it so good. I also love their chicken lomein. I kinda just like

I don't write reviews, so the fact that I'm going out of my way to write this is saying a lot. We came in today around 5, and even though we were one of the few tables in the whole restaurant it was a terrible experience front start to finish.
The host was rude, and even though the ENTIRE restaurant was empty except 4 or 5 tables she had to "call" a manager to find a table for 6 people. All of our food was lukewarm at best. My chicken noodle soup tasted like it came out of a can. Every single sauce on the table was so thick and gummy that I wouldn't even classify it as

My favorite thing about this place was the retro Chinese restaurant decor. It reminded me of a place I used to go as a kid up in northern Minnesota. Cool lanterns, and those red vinyl booths and wood paneling make a solid 70s statement. My boyfriend called it an Asian-themed VFW. Made even more accurate by the fact that karaoke was getting fired up as we were getting ready to leave.
My next favorite thing was the Mai Tai. Strong, boozy, fruity. After ordering drinks, we also tried to get an order of veggie eggrolls. Nope. Don't even bother asking because you'll be shot down right away

RUN. Seriously, it was that bad and I'll tell you why.
Yes I know it's "Chinese American food" but oh my goodness this was the worst restaurant I have ever been to.
My boyfriend and I had the "dinner for 2". This included egg rolls, cream cheese, soup of the day, orange chicken and chicken almond.
1. Soup of the day: NASTY! It came out dark brown, thick, and had huge mushroom pieces and Unknown meat in there along with random dark vegetables. Honestly, it looked like sewage. We tried to eat it all but barely scratched the surface because the taste was horrible
