Salt Mine Wine
Gazing out from our upper vineyard, one has a compass view of Arizona heritage. To the west lies the Verde Salt Mine, one of only three prehistoric salt mines in northern Arizona. The Verde River, one of the last free flowing rivers in Arizona, meanders from the east to the south. We are a small family-owned vineyard and winery in Camp Verde, Arizona.

In 2013, the Norton family selected an historic farm site as a future vineyard and winery. Over the next three years, we planted five acres of grapes compatible with our growing season, soils and micro climate. Today, nestled in among pecan groves, pastures, small farms and roadside produce stands we specialize in growing Italian varietals such as Malvasia Bianca and Sangiovese.

We caught them at the end of the day. They still shared their wines and provided good service. We ended up getting a few bottles to take home. Will definately return.

Quick rundown:
Leann and Yoshi are fabulous tasting hosts.
Essie the dog is perfect.
The wine is delicious.

Slow and steady:
We stopped here on suggestion of the lady at Clear Creek Winery after our tasting there. They were on the way back towards the highway anyway, so why not? And boy am I glad that we made the stop!
We grabbed a table outside and got ready for a tasting, co-lead by Leann and Yoshi, two lovely ladies who you can tell like the wine and like their job. The tasting costs $10 for, I believe, 5 pours. I really enjoyed the rose I tried, and the Montepulciano. As did most of my family

Wow! What a delightful surprise! We visited Salt Mine Winery on a sunny, slightly cool Sunday afternoon. We were warmly greeted by the staff, some other visitors and two very sweet dogs. There were tables inside and out, and we chose out. The table was immediately sanitized and water was brought to the table. There are vineyards as you drive in as well as just by the tasting area. There is also a small body of water like a creek or something. We opted to taste all 9 wines which we shared. The wines are all based on Italian grapes and some names we definitely didn't recognize. They are fairly

Salt Mine Wine was a great small find! This tasting room and vineyard lies off the beaten path in Camp Verde. Family owned and operated, the hospitality was extraordinary. They had a variety of reds and whites made from a Italian varietals. We intend to come back for the relaxing atmosphere as well as the tasty wines.

Wow what a find. We were in town and decided to swing by and see if we could get a quick flight in before they closed. An hour and half later we left having enjoyed two great flights of wine, celebrated a birthday, partied with a bachelorette party, made some great friends and left in possession of two great bottles of wine (REALLY like the Rose 2018 and the Monte was great too)! Beautiful tasting room with beautiful people. The owners, staff and clientele were amazing. Felt like we had entered cheers - where everybody knows your name! HEY NORM! ❤️

Random stop, but will absolutely be back! Still amazes me that high quality wines can be grown from grapes here in the desert. Definitely recommend the reds at Salt Wine. Outstanding!

We had a wonderful experience at Salt Mine Wine. We sat on the patio overlooking the vineyards. The pricing for flights and bottles of wine is very reasonable.
There was not one wine we did not enjoy. I'd say our favorite was the Malvasia Bianca which we ended up buying 2 bottles of.
I wish I could remember the name of the man who took care of us. He was super friendly and the service was outstanding. I'm so looking forward to going back!

My wife and I had an amazing experience today at Salt Mine Winery. After a day of driving around Camp Verde while attempting unsuccessfully to beat the Phoenix heat, this place ended up being our last stop. We had just picked up a delicious mini pie from Udderly Delight, and I saw on the town map that there was a winery only a mile away. I suggested we pair the pie with some wine and we were off. Turned down the private drive to see a sign indicating reservations only. Doh! We drove up to inquire anyways, and were greeted so warmly by the owner and staff. Were we willing to brave the monsoon humidity

Salt Mine Wine is a wonderful addition to our community. The tasting room and patio are comfortable, casual and welcoming. The proprietors are friendly, making their clientele feel like friends right away. The wines are fun to taste; the prices are reasonable. Last Saturday we had a big family gathering at our place and had a bottle of each variety for folks to try. Everyone agreed the wines were delightful. Several of our guests were thrilled to be able to take a walking trek to the winery to pick up a few bottles of their favorites and visit with the owners. We wish you the best of luck!

Amazing little gem right off 260 in camp Verde. Lady's were very nice during tasting. Made my wife and I feel like neighbors just sharing a glass of vino. Grounds are amazing and I love the hill that are growing. A definite place to stop if staying in Verde valley. Very well priced and very friendly staff.
