The most important thing about this upcoming season is that everyone is, and remains, safe and healthy. Here are Boomerang, we cannot wait to welcome you back to our theatre spaces (indoor, outdoor and virtual). A year ago, acclaimed American novelist, John Irwin, and his wife suffered a terrible car crash near their mountain-top home in Woodstock, NY.
He survived, she did not. After months of mourning, insurance litigation, and tabloid harassment, Helen's ghost has returned to constantly haunt John and keep him from writing, sleeping, and staying sober. Since June of 2020, Boomerang has been recording video conversations with artists as they deal with the pandemic and social changes happening in our world.

Services
Established in 1999, the Boomerang Theatre Company is dedicated to producing big, distinctive plays: new, classic and neglected plays. These efforts are brash, swaggering plays of big theatrical questions, a love of language and rooted in our common humanity. We annually present these projects as both outdoor productions and indoors rotating repertory seasons.
The FIRST FLIGHT New Play Festival is one of the premiere new play development festivals in Indie Theatre. Each play selected to participate in the festival received 6 hours of rehearsal time over the course of one week, culminating in a public reading of the play for a supportive audience. Please submit your resume, a synopsis of your play, and a 10 page sample of the play.
The Baton Project is a play reading series where artists "pass on" the opportunity to another artist, helping to recognize the talent of their peers and to bring industry recognition to artists who might not have received it yet. The goal is for artistic creators to work collegially by helping promote each other's work.
The Baton Project began in Fall 2020, as a result of the global pandemic, the impact of "We See You White American Theatre", and the issue of institutional exclusion due to forces both benign and malignant. The Baton Project will serve as a celebration of All Of Us, and be a model for others to emulate.
Join The Boomerang Theatre Company for SHAKE THE ROOM, celebrating 20 years of Shakespeare Performance. Shake The Room is part game show, part celebration. We'll be honoring Boomerang's 20 years of free Shakespeare productions in parks throughout New York City with scenes and highlights from 19 different productions.
