I first went to Alford for my son's first ever dental appointment when he was a year old. Then after his second appointment six months later I figured it was time to make an appointment for myself. I have a lot of anxiety when it comes dental work, but everyone for the front desk staff to the dental hygienist (Alyssa) to both Dr. Alfords are friendly, clear, and conpassionate . I really appreciated how they explained what they were doing each step of the way and what the short term and long term plan is.

Unlike other dentists in the area, this office is unable to provide pricing information for anything beyond an initial work up. If that work up were to indicate that treatment was needed, then (and only then) will they tell you the cost of that treatment. By that point of course, you've already paid a healthy chunk of money and will be disinclined to go somewhere else where you might have to pay again. This policy removes the consumer's ability to shop based on price, and not accidentally. I understand that they can't tell me what treatment I need over the phone, but they should

I just have to say this place, the staff, and doctors are amazing! We moved here from California and I was extremely nervous about getting a new dentist because we had our previous family one forever. Also, I was nervous as a first time mom finding my son a dentist. We love Dr. Jackie and Dr. Jason. I needed some work done on my teeth and Dr. Jason put me at ease and I've had wonderful experiences with him. My husband also sees him and loves him, as does my sister in law now. Dr. Jackie saw my 2 year old for her first dentist appointment and was so kind and gentle with her. The office staff was what has really sold us. After coming from a practice with consistent billing issues, it's refreshing to work with an office staff that cares and is willing to work with you. We decided to come here to get our two-year-old's teeth cleaned as well as our own. We like that it is convenient for families and that you don't have to go to two different places for pediatrics versus / adult cleanings. Both dentists did a great job and our two-year-old even told us she would like to come back. They have TVs to watch while your teeth are getting cleaned and she got a toy hippo from the treasure box when she was finished. A great family-run dental practice! I was greeted by the friendliest staff I have experienced in any medical practice, ever. In addition, Dr. Jason Alford and his assistant both took great care of me. They even let you choose and watch any show you want while they work on your teeth. I would highly recommend this practice.

My family has had an amazing experience with this husband and wife team. We were new to Reno and my 6 year old had a dental emergency and other pediatric dentists that I called couldn't see her for days but Alford took her that same day and Dr. Jackie does an excellent job with kids and the entire experience was anxiety free for my daughter even though she had to go back several times and have teeth pulled and a cavity filled. Super convenient that our entire family can bee seen at this office and everyone at the office is very friendly and helpful!

Dr Jackie and Dr Jason are truly the best! We initially came for a second opinion on our daughter's cavities. Dr Jackie was so patient! She explained the different types of treatment options, and I never felt rushed like I did with the previous dentist. She and Dr Jason did an amazing job on our daughter and I just can't thank them enough for their honesty and kindness. Now we bring all our kids to see them and we live all the way across town! Wow!! I never thought I'd would actually enjoy a dentist visit! Both Jason and Jackie are so friendly and informative but, in a very professional and comfortable way. It was my 3 y/o first dentist visit and Jackie took him like her own, educating him, being playful and taking the time to make him feel safe. He even got a prize from the treasure box for being a good boy! Makayla, the assistant was just a sweetheart and did a great job as well. This family-run business is GREAT! We took our 16 mo old for the first time to the dentist and it was a great experience. Dr Jackie is not only calm, caring, and gentle but very smart and knows the latest research! She is a mom herself so has great techniques on how to deal with toddlers when brushing teeth. All the staff was overly caring, literally made us feel like part of the family. The office is super clean yet very welcoming and they have shows for kids to watch during teeth cleaning. Dr. Alford and her husband were wonderful! I brought my 7 year old to her. I highly recommend this place. They have a very friendly staff who made us feel welcomed and taken care of in the midst of a pandemic. We live in Los Angeles and couldn't get to our dentist for a tooth ache due to the quarantine. I called them at 7am and they were able to see my son by 11am. They were very professional and gave me some options and her recommendations and what we should do. I also highly recommend the laughing gas for your kids, I can't believe I almost made him go through that with out it.

The woman who helped me schedule worked with me to get all necessary info quickly, and was knowledgeable about what insurance information she may need to make sure she wouldn't have to call me back. Decided to give them a try after a bad experience w/a previous pediatric dental office. I would give them 20 more stars if I could! Dr Alford was exceptional! Her DA, Johana, & front desk attendant, Jaime, were just as awesome as she was. Doc was very thorough in explaining all the details of dental work we needed. She spoke in layman's terms so that I would understand. She took her time to explain different options & gave me ways to save money! Who does that?!
