Imagine being free from emotional chains that bind us and living a life full of potential and possibilities. Being fully alive, having a fulfilling life and healthy relationships is possible for all of us. But we can get in our own way and short change ourselves. Fear, guilt, shame, sadness, pain, past traumas, addictions and compulsions all contribute to stifling the possibilities of who we are and what we can be.

I believe that a careful exploration of these obstacles can open us up to a more authentic self, full of life, courage and our true potential. Practicing since 1989, I integrate psychotherapy with Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Emotionally Focused Therapy to help eliminate emotional and psychological blocks and get on with the task of living a full life.
Services
I am a licensed psychotherapist, trainer, and consultant in private practice in Arlington, MA. I am experienced working with individuals, couples and groups since 1989, with a focus on helping others find their full potential and live conscious lives. My straightforward approach is helpful in creating a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere where self exploration and learning can occur.
Have you ever felt depressed, stuck, unhappy, confused about your life or unsure about who you are? Most of us have at some point in our lives. Psychotherapy is a process of learning about yourself and what is important to you, maybe for the first time. Therapy slows you down and helps you to notice what is going on and how you are feeling.
EFT is a type of psychological acupuncture that helps alleviate many emotional and physical problems by using a unique energy balancing technique. Dr. Roger Callahan, a practicing clinical psychologist who specialized in the treatment of phobias, developed it over twenty years ago.

At the time Dr. Callahan was becoming dissatisfied with the results of traditional therapy techniques and was searching for a faster, more pain-free way for his clients to be relieved of their symptoms. He began to explore body-centered therapies, acupuncture being one of them. One day, a client who had a severe fear of water mentioned to him that she felt sick to her stomach when she looked at water.
Below are the five basic steps you will be following. 1. Identify an issue that is causing you physical or emotional distress. 2. Focus on your issue and assess the intensity of your distress. 3. Craft and then vocalize a statement that accurately describes how you are feeling, adding an affirmation of positive self-regard.
