At Northeast Treaters, with over 100 combined years of industry experience, our primary focus is to manufacture and distribute high quality pressure treated wood products. Wood is a natural and renewable resource. Our treated wood products are an environmentally responsible choice too.

Wood products treated with The MicroPro(R) micronized copper preservative are eligible for more green building points than any other treated wood product in the market. Our location places us in the most efficient place to take full advantage of the freight flow of wood. We have several contracts in place to procure raw materials reliably and at the lowest cost by rail from three major wood procuring regions.
Services
Northeast Treaters was founded in 1985 in Belchertown, MA, as a manufacturer of pressure treated lumber. In 1996, an additional facility was added in Athens, NY to produce fire-retardant treated lumber, which is kiln dried before and after the treatment process. Since 1985, Northeast Treaters has gained the reputation of being a top quality producer, receiving several awards for service and excellence.
At Northeast Treaters there is a single focus: we manufacture and distribute pressure treated wood products only. We do not manufacture or distribute any other building materials or decking products not made from wood. Additionally, our staff has over 100 years of combined experience in the industry and we are here to help you with any questions you may have concerning pressure treated wood products.
MicroPro(R) technology is a revolutionary way to pressure treat wood for decks, fences, landscaping and general construction uses. MicroPro(R) MCA pressure treated wood is treated with micronized copper azole preservatives, which help protect against termite damage and fungal decay. MicroPro(R) offers many benefits including significantly improved corrosion performance.
The two most common service conditions for treated wood are "Above Ground Use" (UC3B) and "Ground Contact Use" (UC4A). It is important when specifying Above Ground or Ground Contact treated wood products that the intended end use application for the treated wood is determined.

When using treated wood in "close proximity" to the ground or in applications in or around fresh water areas, it is recommended that all treated wood products used be treated to a "Ground Contact" preservative retention level.Examples for "close ground proximity" are ground level deck joists and beams or surface decking, joists and beams subject to frequent wetting from moisture sources such as swimming pools, hot tubs and air conditioning units.
MicroPro(R) technology offers many benefits including significantly improved corrosion performance. Wood treated with MicroPro(R) technology exhibits corrosion rates on metal products similar to untreated wood. Use fasteners and hardware that are in compliance with the manufacturer's recommendations and the building codes for their intended use.
