After seeing the DoorDash reviews about this place, I figured I'd give it a try. I love hibachi but this place just didn't do it for me. I did order my meal to go which could be a factor . I'm a huge fan of Kobe's and I didn't even feel this place was close to comparable. I ordered the chicken hibachi and added shrimp and the chicken was bland. Everything seemed to be lacking flavor except for the rice. I love a good hibachi experience but I think I'd rather just stick with Kobe's. They were pretty busy when I came to pick up my food so I may just have to give

Wow! What a disappointment! There's a Spanish cook who has no personality and the food either had no taste or super salty. I asked him why was he so quiet? And his response was " I'm tired" really?? I drove over 40 minutes to enjoy this food! I used to love Kuchi, but its going bad really fast! Never again!

Been here a few times, high quality ingredients but poor service. I always have to warn my guests about the potentially inattentive servers. But tonight they were just flat out rude. When a guest had a concern about the food being inedibly spicy (this person regularly eats spicy food!) and explained this to the argumentative waitress- she dismissed it and did not offer an exchange until we were paying so we could leave. Unfortunately will probably be my last time here, go somewhere where they won’t tell about you in the room over to the manager in a foreign language because of a concern you bring

I would never recommend this place. Although the cook was entertaining the food was just not it. Upon entering this place it had a very strange smell. Almost like being in a very old building with a moldy smell. It was like a cloud just following you with this smell that it made my stomach very uneasy. They sit me and my spouse down with another party of 4, cool. I order my food then decided I needed to use the bathroom. I got the three roll lunch special here and it wasn’t great. A few different places around here have similar offers, and this one is at the bottom of my list. The portions were a little smaller than others (6 pieces instead of a more common 8, and smaller in size too). The actual quality of the rolls was average at best, and the miso soup was just boring with very little tofu. Some places purposefully skimp on their lunch specials, so maybe their other stuff is good, but I wouldn’t recommend coming here for that anyway.

I didn't realize that they closed for a bit between lunch and dinner. Fortunately I arrived only a couple of minutes prior to them opening for dinner (5pm). This is my most favorite sushi restaurant in Tampa Bay. Their dishes always come out in gorgeous presentations and I haven’t found a roll I don’t like (the “Jimmy Smith” Roll is the BEST). We usually go to Kuchi for date nights and have a tradition of going for Christmas dinner! The staff is always friendly and anticipates your needs without making you wait. The hibachi isn’t the best I’ve had, but it’s still good. I recommend this restaurant to everybody.

I got take out for lunch. The restaurant was pretty empty midday on a Saturday afternoon. The menu has so many options for sushi and for very great, affordable prices. I don't know if they usually give salad and wonton chips for free because I ordered to-go or because it comes with the appetizer. The wonton chips were somewhat stale but it paired nicely with the Green Phoenix. I'm definitely coming back to this establishment!

Outstanding!
Brought my daughter and some friends along with the family for her birthday. We had a great time. The chef David was entertaining and a lot of fun. The food was amazing and plentiful. We had a party of 7 and everyone had plenty of leftovers. He included everyone in the fun including my 12 yr old. We all agreed 5 STARS! We will be back!

Came here to celebrate my sisters birthday and lets just say this was a complete DISASTER. Waitress took our entire order wrong and when we addressed it she started to argue and said no see I wrote it here its not wrong. Very unprofessional attitude. Didnt apologize for any of the mistakes. Then the cook was not fair with proportions, gave us barely any rice, when we mentioned it he said yeah that happens. This place went downhill really quick. I definitely do not recommend coming here unless you want them to take your money and run. If I could give this a zero star I would. No wonder the owner

Kuchi was great, but every time we go always have a good time, we get a great hibachi chef, this time we gat Panda or what he call himself King Panda, he was great to talk, funny, very friendly and with great energy.. food was delicious, we had a group of 9 people between adults and kids and had so much fun that we didn't even take pictures

All I cay is OMG! We evacuated here from New Orleans and we have only found a few places to eat that were really good..
I LOVED this place! The food was absolutely amazing and the chef gave just enough attention to not be annoying.
Portion sizes were huge and we ended up taking more than half of it home.
My only issue is the girl behind the counter. She never looked up from her phone until I finally had to get her attention. Management needs to tell her to keep her phone in her purse

I honestly only gave it three stars because in my personal opinion, in comparison to most other hibachi restaurants I have been to, Kuchi Sushi & Hibachi was decent. If you're looking for a hibachi restaurant nearby, you will have a decent experience here. The rice was good, noodles were a bit too saucey, the broccoli wasn't that fresh and the shrimp kind of had this kitchen-y smell (I could still eat it with some sauces, though). It is very filling and they do allow you to get a to-go box if you can't finish the whole meal in one sitting. It doesn't seem as popular in the couple times I have gone

But here I am writing a review for this place because the sashimi here is actually pretty good! I decided to try out the tuna sashimi lunch special and was pleasantly surprised. While it is on the pricier side, probably around $24, you get tuna sashimi, soup, salad, rice, seaweed salad, and Japanese daikon pickles. Beautiful little sushi and hibachi restaurant. Nice interior and ambiance. Fresh rolls, with amazing flavor. The waitress was very sweet, and made sure we had everything we needed multiple times. No wait time, and just a very enjoyable experience. Definitely left feeling satisfied, and full. I would highly recommend trying this place immediately.

Always a winner! Each year we celebrate the end of school with Hibachi (used to be Bennihana, before we moved, but now Kuchi is the gem!)
So well priced and a great value.
All chefs are entertaining and the nicest!
Husband and kiddo usually order chicken / steak hibachi (yum) and my favorite is the calamari (so good!!!)
I also like it because it is fun to chat with the other diners at the table.

4 years ago when we ordered sushi, it was awful! Maybe it was an off day but we never went back for sushi. Until recently, and it has improved greatly! It went from cringeworthy to highly recommend.
And their dinner Hibachi show is so much fun! Plus the pricing is quite reasonable compared to the other well known Hibachi restaurant in tampa.

As our tour of sushi places continue, we stopped here before a movie. The outside of the building is a little run down but the inside is beautiful.
The service is great. Very attentive to the customer.
The sushi is... average. The presentation is beautiful but the flavors were lacking. There just seemed to be something missing in each roll we tried.

Good sushi and one of the better hibachi places we have been to.
My husband requested we go to a hibachi place for his birthday. A friend reminded me that Kobe always sends a free meal coupon and I brought that up to him. In the end we decided we rather support local and the Kobe nearest to us has a less than four star rating - wow am I getting elitist on where I eat. I'm actually glad we chose here, because it was pretty empty so we didn't have to worry about my son's crazy antics and the food was good!
