E&J is a family-owned and operated business that was started by Ernest "Ernie" Johnson, and has been serving the East Valley since 1982. Ernie began his career with a small hardware store in Coolidge, AZ. After working for two firms he joined General Electric for several years. Like so many entrepreneurs, he decided to launch his own business from his garage.

Since then, E&J has expanded out of the garage beginnings into a full-fledged, appliance service company with five service vehicles and a full time staff focused on customer care. Through the Certified Service Center, a national appliance servicing organization, Ernie earned his Master Technician certification.

Our goal at E&J is to repair your appliance as economically for you as possible and to make sure you are satisfied with our services. We charge a flat rate to come to your home. We are the premier Tempe appliance repair company local to the valley with thousands of happy customers and reviews. We are based in Tempe but provide service to most of the valley.

Providing a comprehensive range of services to the Valley for over 3 decades, our repair services meet the highest standards of expertise and professionalism in the industry.
Our 90-day, limited labor warranty services defects in our workmanship. If a part fails due to a manufacturer's defect, our labor is covered for 90 days. There is no warranty against additional or more extensive repairs, against other problems that may occur on the same machine (even if involving identical symptoms), or against incidental damages.

There tech did pretty much nothing and told me it was the washer drain pump. How could he tell if he didn’t at least open the machine?

My appliances were used and that I knew. The washer did not work and I could not tell whether it was the pipes or the machine. By the time I had the plumbing fixed, the 30 day warranty on the washer was up and the machine does not work properly. I don't believe they test the equipment thoroughly. Very very disappointed

This place is garbage, charged me 98 dollars, oh and he discounted me from 129. He spent 2 minutes at my home to tell me that theres a litigation out on this model and there was nothing that he could do. I said you are charging me to knock on my fridge, he continued to say yes this is the service fee. COMPLETE GARBAGE!!! Pleasd never use this company, just take from people. What happened to integrity or doing the right thing.

Our Samsung refrigerator stopped cooling. I called E&J and they right away knew what the problem was and ordered the parts. Theo came to the house to do the repair. He was very professional and knowledgeable and diagnosed the problem right away as ice buildup in the back of the refrigerator. After removing the part that they thought was defective, it turned out it was OK. Theo defrosted the refrig with a steamer, and with some difficulty got it restarted cooling. He was here for about two hours and said he didn't want to leave us without a working refrigerator. Not many company employees show this

I was a bit disappointed in my experience with this company. They came highly recommended, and responded quickly to a message. The problem was that after responding to call their office the next day for an appointment on an emergency fridge repair, they told me it would be 4-5 days before they could get out. If that had been relayed in the initial message, I would have sought someone else instead of waiting overnight to call their office. I would rather know you are too busy, then to wait and lose time.

What ever system is in place is not working. We set up an appointment only to find out an hour later they do not service the area... I was in the phone 15 min setting up appointment; you would think this would come up. Now we have lost other potential appts we could have set up.

A burner on my gas stove wouldn't light. It clicked and I knew gas was coming out because it lit with a match.
I used Thumbtack and got quick responses. The repair company I selected tried to diagnose the issue over the phone, ordered parts for over $200 and was going to charge almost $500 for the fix. Thankfully, they kept changing the appointment time and I got frustrated. They did refund a deposit so I guess that is the best thing they could have done.
Enter E&J. They came out within hours and diagnosed the problem. No parts necessary, just needed cleaning and proper installation -

We had a leak in the dishwasher. Brian came out to repair on time. He spent time determining what the issue was and fixed it on the spot. He was very pleasant to deal with. Will use this company again if or when we need another repair.

Extremely pleased with their services. They called me during their scheduled window and arrived within it as well. The owner was present during the appliance repair as the technician was completing his training. This shows me that everyone at every level in the company is concerned with doing repairs correctly and efficiently. They repaired both of my appliances quickly and completely. One of the appliances wasn't functioning due to user error, but they did not make me feel bad about not catching my mistake. That is my girlfriends job:)

This company is by far the best appliance company I have ever used. From the first phone call, to arrival and repair. Customer service was pleasant and did what they said they would do. I have a Samsung RF28K9380SG fridge that constantly has the ice maker freeze up. Which in turn requires me to thaw out the buildup and chip the ice out. This happens about every two weeks. Pain. In. The. Butt.

The wife is on attack mode without her ice so I decided to call it in.

I contacted E&J through their website and they called back and left a detailed message saying that it was a known problem and that it might be fixable.
