We have been able to open additional spaces in all classes, and may have openings available. Lakeside Cooperative Preschool is a non-profit early childhood education program for children 3 to 5 years old. At Lakeside Co-op Preschool, parents and teachers play an active role in the development and success of each child.

Parent involvement keeps tuition cost low and actively engages each student and parent, creating a welcoming and safe environment. Our school's spacious classroom provides the perfect space for your child to learn, wonder, and grow. Our classroom is located at Silver Beach Elementary in Bellingham, WA.
Services
Lakeside is a non-profit preschool affiliated with Whatcom Community College and Bellingham Public Schools. We are board run by a panel of volunteers. Every family at Lakeside is unique and valued and their contributions of time and expertise combine with our staff to make Lakeside a strong preschool program.
Being a part of a co-op preschool is a unique experience. Because of involvement with the school and their child's education, families create strong support systems, friendships, and further their understanding of young children and child development. Working in the classroom: parents support, encourage, play with, and extend children's experiences in the classroom.
Teachers are the heart and soul of any educational environment. Ms Patty and Ms Anna are the center of our co-op and our children are a product of their passion for preschool education. They always put our children first. Each year, Ms Patty and Ms Anna continue their education by attending early childhood education conferences and keeping abreast of the latest research and teaching techniques.
The goal of this preschool is to provide children with a positive early learning experience. The school has a flexible, stimulating environment in which each child may freely experience a wide range of physical, social, and intellectual activities. As a cooperative preschool, parents have the opportunity to be directly involved in the education of their children, and to get instruction in the skills of parenthood.
The schedule is designed to accommodate the social, developmental, and intellectual needs of each class. Stories, songs, and conversation are all age appropriate and reflect the ability of each group of children. A flexible schedule permits us to enhance and extend a subject that the children have taken a particular interest in, and also allows us to use the special skills of each working parent.

We have had an incredible experience at Lakeside! Both of my kids love going to school at Lakeside! My son started last year in the 3 year old class last year and is continuing in the P-K class this year (joined by younger brother in the mixed class). I'm so impressed with the learning and preparation for kindergarten, but especially with the level of play that the kids enjoy. I also really appreciate the cooperative environment that has so much parent involvement and allows me to create a consistent learning environment at home and school. I love Lakeside and would highly recommend this preschool

Both of my boys have loved Lakeside. The teachers are very supportive of both learning through play, as well as structured activities. I value the co-op model because I have gotten to know all the kids while working in class, and I can see how much my son has learned!
