I wish this review was a good one. I have ordered from Xin Wong for many years. Tonight, I tried to order online and the website said it didn't deliver in my area. Must be a mistake, I thought. Okay. So I called. The woman on the phone said she couldn't hear me and hung up on me. I called back. When I tried to explain, she hung up on me again. Frankly, Fresh Wok is much better anyway. I ordered from Fresh Wok and am enjoying some cashew chicken that is much better than anything made a Xin Wong. Seriously. In these Covid times, let's not give our precious money to businesses who don't respect us

Really poor customer practices, and disregard for basic food safety/cross contamination protocols. My family and I used to order here regularly for Christmas. Decided to carry on the tradition and had an allergic reaction to an item I order regularly. After I had recovered and called them to let them know, I was told that I was unreasonable to expect a refund for such a thing, and that they would not process a refund unless I brought the offending dish to their restaurant.

I wanted to like this place because of all the positive reviews, but it was underwhelming. Whatever happened to crab wontons? At least those had something besides straight plain cream cheese. The fried dumplings needed green onions, or more if it had any, to add to the taste. The beef wonton/dumping thing was decent but didn’t stand out. The orange and sesame chicken were solid-what-you’d-expect dishes. As for the lemon chicken, avoid it, it was the worst of the entrees because it consisted of battered chicken, which lacked salt, and a container of “lemon sauce.” The lemon sauce was kinda

I love their food so much. It's always cooked piping hot and tastes amazing. Their customer service is also usually nice to me, and helps me resolve any problems kindly. Their delivery service is also usually quick (when it's not that busy.) Overall, I recommend this restaurant. They make the food really fast and have affordable prices for fair proportions. Pretty good in my opinion.

People who consider this to be "the best Chinese" need to expand their horizons. For Americanized, Minnesotan Chinese food it's okay, if that's your thing, but there are many other places that are better. I ordered a shrimp dish. When it was prepared and they started to bag it, the cashier was talking to one of the cooks in Chinese. They mentioned shrimp and were laughing about something and looking at me. When I got home it wasn't shrimp but a white fish filet. I don't expect to go back. In the area, Dragon Wok Delivery is far better, beginning with daily fresh

We used to order from here regularly. It was so consistent. The last 3 times it has been bad. In fact the last time it seemed like the delivery guy had been driving around for an hour with our food because it was both cold and steamed. The orange chicken was disgusting. Like eating an orange rind. The won tons tasted like thawed leather. After 3 years I think we are done with them.

The food is good. I did have a mix up one time and ended up with shrimp lo mein which I could not eat because I am allergic which no one was understanding over the phone. I did not want to go back and finally they said they could only give us a free lo mein next time we came which of course how will a person keep track of that so we have not gotten it. Besides that I have always enjoyed their food. They are very quick.

I am always on a quest for the best dumplings in Minneapolis since travelling to China and I think I've discovered at least one place in Xin Wong. The pork dumplings are tender and flavorful and huge! They were excellent especially with the sauce the served them with! Also tried the chicken egg foo young. The patties are thin and loaded with big pieces of chicken meat. There was no way I could finish it in one meal.
Portions are large and prices are more than fair. I am so glad I found this restaurant!

Food is good . . . as to when or where they will deliver it is a matter of chance. You may or may not get what you order. Tried them several times when in town delivered to my condo.
Even with clear instructions to call upon arrival . . . they may or may not call. The food may or may not be where you instructed them to put it.
So far 3 out of 5 times I had to get a refund. One time they told me "Man doesn't read or understand English." No satisfactory why they would send him then . . . not my problem.
I recommend Fresh Wok for good food and on time delivery

I had hopes Xin Wong would be my bulletproof, affordable and slightly-above-average-in-flavor Americanized Chinese food stripmall joint. It's not quite that, but it's decent, if oily.
Pro-tip: their website is old-school (and made me worry it's not secure) but I successfully placed an online order and don't have credit card fraud!
The vegetable rolls ($1.50 each) had good texture but were full of celery, which ruined them.
The vegetable fried rice ($5.25), which I asked to be made without egg, was bland.
The kung pao tofu ($8.75) was decent, but full of celery. It's

This is your basic hole in the wall strip mall Chinese takeout joint. It was very fast. We walked in ordered our food, shrimp with broccoli combo with eggroll for me and Kong pow chicken egg roll combo for him. There were two tables and we sat down at one of them to wait. I would say less than five minutes. Mine had at least six big shrimps and maybe six big pieces of broccoli with lots of fried rice that was a tad dry. The sauce was not too spicy, not too sweet, pretty perfect. The eggroll seems like it had been cooked in oil a tad past it's prime. The bill for our food was a little over

Wonderful experience. Lunch menu met all my expectations: quality, quantity and price. This, my first visit, will definitely be my Chinese first choice.
I only encountered one glitch which was that they had no entrance directly off Nicollet-I had to enter from 49th street. Online menu was very detailed, but I had to use my card in person as the app wouldn't accept it. Will be back

We were looking for a solid Chinese food spot near Uptown when we stumbled upon Xin Wong, a hidden gem nestled in a strip mall on Nicollet Ave. We ordered the General Tso's, Singapore Chow Mein Fun, pork lo mein, and cream cheese wontons. All of our entrees were delicious and flavorful, as well as not being greasy or oily.
When you order a combination platter (similar in price to a regular entree), you get fried rice and egg rolls on the side. You can't beat the price point! My friend has a shellfish allergy and they accommodated all of our special notes on the order for her food to

Cheap, quick, flavorful, good poritons, not too oily, cooked by a local family - what's not to like?
- Hot and spicy beef is delicious, full of aromatic onions and peppers and of course, beef. Fried rice was flavorful as well. Also, the lunch special was just $6.25!
- Singapore Mei Fun was also tasty, had a good amount of egg in it. A bit greasy, but tasty.
It is Americanized Cantonese style chinese food, but hey it is what is typically known as "Chinese".
The only complaint I have is I ordered extra spicy, but it tasted only medium spicy. Had to break out my own hot sauce.

This place does fast, hot, standard, consistently good Chinese food. I enjoyed the Orange Chicken and the General Tso's Chicken.
Sometimes the phone lines are so busy, and not everyone on the phone knows the menu, so it has been a bit challenging. But I'm confident they work to get all the orders right.
Even before Covid, this is a almost entirely take out place, as there is very limited seating. And they seem to be doing great business during Covid, so cheers to them.

This is the perfect Chinese spot for vegetarians and meat lovers alike.
I HIGHLY recommend the Walnut Tofu. It is on the chefs special menu and is good fresh, and re-fried with leftover white rice the next day.
The egg rolls and wontons are good - really all of the little details they just tend to get right.
Our house order:
Walnut tofu
Veggie egg roll
Moo shoo vegetables
Beef lo mein
Fried dumplings
2x wontons
You're welcome

So good! Online ordering was easy, efficient and quick. It was very clearly laid out and there were so many great choices. The price is unbeatable and overall it is an amazing bang for your buck. I got the Kung Pao Tofu and Sweet and Sour soup. My boyfriend got the garlic chicken and steamed dumplings. It arrived in about an hour and it was hot, fresh and flavorful! It was very far from take-out greasy Chinese and even gave my usual Chinese restaurant a run for its money. The portions are huge, we easily made 3 good sized meals out of one entree. And we can EAT!! The food really tasted

Holy fast, Batman! If you want Chinese takeout at lightning speeds, this is your place. I'm talkin' like we literally ordered our food via phone (although in the past have always ordered online) while leaving the Super America parking lot on 35th & Nicollet, and by the time we scootered the 12 blocks down Nicollet to Xin Wong, it was already ready for pick-up. That's mind-blowingly fast service.
We brought it home to devour, and devour we did. I'm not going to play-by-play this whole meal because it's just easier to tell you that it was all great. Cream cheese wontons
