For 17 years Pittsburgh Playwrights Theater Company has trained people on and behind the stage. Artists sought us out to help them start their careers because they saw people like themselves here. We knew our method of giving individual attention while expecting accountability fostered growth, but we were always too busy to establish a formal training program, until now.

The production I saw last night had quality lighting and flat acting. The theater itself has many problems. The seats felt like cement and the heat wasn’t on. All of those discomforts were compounded by the lack of an intermission. I like to get up and have a drink, go to the bathroom, etc., when I see a show. It would have at least given my butt some relief.
