Andies
Andie's Mediterranean Fusion Restaurant has been a pioneer and neighborhood favorite for over 30 years thanks to the great support of our Andersonville neighbors. Owner/Chef Andie Tamras has traveled extensively throughout the Mediterranean; bringing back the most popular and varied cuisines that reflect the flavors and traditions from each region.

Mediterranean dishes are some of the most flavorful, fresh and varied cuisines in the culinary canon and one of the most healthy styles of eating in existence. In the summer we boast great outdoor seating and our fireplace is a perfect place to warm up in the winter. Although there's limited parking available in the rear of the restaurant, there's ample street parking on Clark.
Services
Mediterranean dishes are some of the most flavorful, fresh and varied cuisines in the culinary canon and one of the most healthy styles of eating in existence. Our hearty pasta dishes, sauces and dips are all homemade and change with the seasons. We cook locally and seasonally and we source our produce locally when available.
Come in for dinner on your birthday and get a complementary entree when you bring three friends and order 4 entrees (maximum $15 discount.) Advance reservations required. I was pleased to find gluten free pita bread as well as vegan entrees. I had the vegetable biryani, which was great, and my wife had the chicken shish-kebob, which she loved.
We cater for all occasions the Healthy Mediterranean way! Whether you're planning a corporate event, a rehearsal dinner, wedding or just need box lunches, Andie's Restaurant is perfect for your special occasion. The food is beautifully presented and reasonably priced. The pita is fresh and hot while you're waiting for your entree and the appetizers are also excellent.

Outstanding quality, excellent variety, huge value. Bought what we thought was good for 7 people, turned out we had leftovers for 7 more.
Can't recommend enough.

If you are looking for gluten free dining you must add this to your list of favorites! There is a tremendous variety, including gluten free pita to scoop up their delicious hummus. Quality is consistent, service friendly and the atmosphere earthy and cozy. I am constantly surprised by how quickly I'm able to be seated. This place should always be packed!

I’d genuinely have to say that the food overall is pretty good, from the lentil soup and fries, and vice versa. For me, the spicy chicken kofta kebab plate was a bit off for me. I don’t know if it’s the marinade or the spices that go into it, but it was unfortunately not spicy at all as stated. All those flavors going on (possibly marinade) was overpowering the taste of the chicken. Everything else on that plate, from the vegetable mix and the rice, was great! If I had to say anything overall, i’d make the chicken a bit more spicy. I’ll be coming back to try more items :)

I was headed to the place next door but they were pretty slammed so I decided to go to Andie's instead, and I'm thrilled that's where I ended up! I had my pup with me, who they were lovely about accommodating, and the service was very good in general.
But the star is the food. Wowza. I had the #1 veggie combination plate, and chose spinach pie, dolmades, baba ganoush and falafel for my four items.
In fairness, I've never had a bad dolma (stuffed grape leaves) but these were truly excellent. The falafel really sang too, with gorgeous crispy exterior, flavorful spiced interior topped with a bright

Ordered from Uber Eats. When driver showed up it wasn't our order. Working with the driver I contacted the restaurant and we figured out a different driver took our order. Andie's staff worked to remake our order and get it to us quickly. Props to the staff and manager for making it right!

Food was yummy plus. Babaganoush was stellar, as always. Pitas are the best in Chicago, no doubt in my mind. The vegetable mousaka I ordered hit the spot and my wife gave two thumbs up to her lentils and portabella dish.

It could have been a fiasco but Andie's made it right. I've been a

A most disappointing experience. Leaving aside the fact that the dishes served here are not even remotely authentic, the food is simply not tasty or well-executed. Of the 8-9 dishes our group ordered, most were less impressive than "meh" and a couple were outright inedible. Chunky, almost chalky paste should not be called hummus, and raw onion should not overpower the smell of chickpeas. Baba ghanoush should taste of eggplant. If tomato sauce is used, it should not a cake. What is advertised as shawarma could not be helped by any alteration of the recipe.

It was an ok first time. Not sure if understaffed or inattentive. Took some time to get waited with a pretty empty restaurant, but after that we were pretty much rolling. Would try again

Really enjoyed pretty much everything there. Amazing flavorful food (I ordered Lamb eggplant tagine with couscous and lentos soup) and the sangria was fresh and strong! Even though the service was a little off; perhaps a little too attentive, or maybe a little pushy; their food totally made up for it! Strongly recommended.

Andie's is our go-to spot when dining with friends. The cocktails are extremely good (I always get the cucumber mint-tini) and all the entrees are both delicious and reasonable. I love the lamb & eggplant tagine; the other night I ordered it, ate half (and I'm a big girl) and had it for lunch the next two days. The flavors, always intense and without heat, only became better each day. The pistachio-crusted sea bass is always wonderful, and the kebabs tender and flavorful. Entrees come with soup or a salad, and most are less than $20. I'm SO glad they survived the pandemic

Slowly getting back to normal life, we ventured to Andies. Bear in mind that we'd not been for ages.

The restaurant décor was the same except for a colorful, lighthearted bird mobile in the center of the restaurant. As one dips their toe back into the restaurant scene, what was nice as well was a number of tables at the front with open windows. We felt comfortable.

But what about the food? What about the service?

Andies always had a shining personality and they still do. They always had good service and they still do.

Before, the food was goodish; now, based on what we had on our last

Ate the ribs dinner, and was treated to something really special. There were so many vegetables that I asked for a big soup spoon. That, with the gravy, made me feel as if I were eating a stew, without a lot of juice. It tasted delicious!

This place is a rip off. Came here a week ago and I am still mad about the money they took from me for my "salad".

They upcharged me $6 for an already full sized salad that was listed as around 13 bucks. Which made it $19. This salad consisted of a half of a roughly chopped cucumber, a roughly chopped tomato that they left the stem on and served me, and a roughly chopped red onion. I paid an extra $6 for four medium sized shrimp( which is fine). The feta was flavorless, the tzaziki was chunky and watery and flavorless, and the whole thing was just horrible.

For the $23 I paid for

I've eaten at Andies off and on for many years. I was introduced to the best moussaka (eggplant) that I have ever eaten to this day. This was when Andies was just a tiny restaurant.
They just don't have the same quality of food anymore. I love their dill rice and baba ganoush.
But I simply got a skewer of grilled chicken and the chicken was like rubber. This is a basic dish that should be tender and juicy.
And the music was elevator music. Play some middle Easter music that fits the food but not elevator music.
The moussaka was good and looked good but it's not that original

Great service and delicious mediterranean selections! I'm never disappointed. Absolutely love the combination dip sampler!!! I've notated in my Last Will and Testament to please be served their 3 Cheese Vegetable Mousaka with a side of Gyro meat. One more comment: the gluten free pita bread is way over the top expensive!! It costs nickels to make and takes seconds to prepare! Give a gluten free guy or gal a break!! Sorry, one more thing, delivery needs work. Every time I order for delivery it arrives missing a portion of what I ordered. Every time!! Ugh....

After many years, we decided to give Andies another try. Hubby got a gyros sandwich deluxe and I got their braised short ribs with mashed potatoes and veggies. Also got an order of hummus. The gyros was average, but okay and certainly the portion was decent. My short ribs were okay as well, though there was a slight bitter taste to it. I will try and doctor up my leftovers. There was plenty of food, but it was all piled into one of those round aluminum containers. with no attempt to separate the ingredients. It looked more like stew.

As for the hummus, it was absolutely tasteless. If I didn

With only a few hours notice, Andies was able to whip up some delicious food to feed 4 hungry people that can eat a lot!!! I ordered Andies Classic pack and I was so fresh and delicious. Andies never disappoints. Great food and great customer service. With all the restaurants closing do to Covid-19, we really need to support the really good ones like Andies.

I've ordered Andies a few times on Ubereats now, but hoping to eventually visit the restaurant itself. I love Mediterranean food! I grew up in a town in Michigan where middle eastern/ Mediterranean food are extremely popular. More specifically, Lebanese and Greek food. Now living in Chicago, I've struggled to find a place like back home.

Andies has come the closest to satisfying my crave. First, the chicken lemon rice soup is incredible! Second, the fattoush is a must with any order- you will not be disappointed!! The menu has an abundance of options that I'd like to try- but just

This is one of our favorite vegetarian local spots...until now. The vegetarian 3 cheese mousaka now doesn't come with rice nor does it say anywhere that it's a change to the menu. But, they still charge you the full 16.50 regardless. Sadly I didn't see this before confirming my order. If you're going to cut part of the meal out of your plate, you should at least cut some of the price to match. Super upsetting.

Stopped in here after deciding that we needed some sustenance, as we were drained from our day traipsing around, holiday shopping in Andersonville.

It was the perfect spot. We shared the dip sampler platter (hummus, harissa, baba ganoush, and potato dip) and artichoke hearts with olives. Everything was fine. The pita was plentiful. I was also really surprised to see a mocktail section on the menu.

It's possible we didn't get the full experience, as it was sort of an awkward non-meal time, and everything was perfectly pleasant, I'm just not sure I'm excited to rush back and

For me, Andies is an alright Mediterranean restaurant if you need somewhere that's large and not too noisy with a good number of options available. This is location conveniently on a street with plenty of shopping, entertainment, bar, and other dining options nearby. Service is quick and efficient, and decor is fairly nice.

Unfortunately, there's nothing special about the food. While it's served in large portions, I feel like there's fast casual options I'd rather go for over the food I had here. The lentil soup is warm with a nice consistency and provides a hearty option

Amazing food! Spectacular service. I needed a gluten free restaurant for my friend, and she was beyond impressed! To have home made gluten free pita was a treat. The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming. I had… the chicken apricot special. I will have dreams about it. Then to round it out with Turkish coffee, truly done perfectly. We had so much fun at the end of dinner we just moved to the bar! Ryan makes killer martinis 🍸. I look forward to going back with more friends and family.
