Carolina Crab

Wife and I had dinner here 2 nights ago and were pleasantly surprised with the food. I had fried oyster basket with she crab soup and wife got the crab cakes. Being former residents of Calvert co Md and having a bunch of watermen friends we didn't expect really good crab cakes but we were wrong. Not exactly as good as Md but very well done. If you go try to get Valentina for service.

Our server was great, he had the entire patio and bar area, so he was busy. Outdoor seating and a portable heater since it was a bit chilly. We had the flounder, fish tacos, crab cakes and the steak. Very tasty, everyone was happy.

I was excited to try this place as it was part of the crab club and I had tried crazy crab earlier in the week an it was delicious. When I arrived with no reservations I was seated quickly. I was asked if I wanted to sit outside and I said sure only to be seated outside in a hallway or something. I was not able to see anything but the bar that was between me and outside. That was okay as I as I could watch the football games. I sat there for about 12 minutes before the bartender can over and asked if I had been helped. I told her no. She brought me some water and was nice to take my order. I wished

Seated quickly. Band from the Black Marlin was overly loud on a shared porch. Lump crab cake was not lumpy And only half warmed half cold french fries were tepid with no flavor. Shrimp tasted very fishy? Spoiled? Fish tacos were enjoyed two of our party

Just because you're a "crowd favorite", it doesn't mean it's ok to skip details. This was one of the "okayest" meals I've had in a while. Our server was great though.

The haddock sandwich is fantastic. It's more than a sandwich! The piece of fish is huge. Lightly fried and topped with a slice of cheese is an unusual combination but it works. Service is always good, view is nice and often has live music (sometimes from the other restaurant).

We were a party of five with a 6:15 reservation. We were seated promptly and our server, Isaiah, took our drink order. The Painkillers and Bloody Mary’s were fantastic! Our dinner was ordered and served without delay. I had the crab stuffed flounder. One of the best meals I’ve ever eaten! The roasted red pepper risotto was heavenly! Everyone around the table loved their meal. Our server Isaiah shared his beautiful smile and exceptional service throughout our meal. We’ll be back next trip!!

Wow. This place suuuuucked. Should have turned right around when we walked up and the smells from college came rushing back of spilled beer on the floor but my husband got to choose the restaurant for our last night of vacation so... we stayed. Regrettably.

I chose the bbq shrimp and grits (bbq on the side please), my daughter mistakingly chose the chicken parmigiana (which I could've told her was going to be a disaster) my son did some jumbo seafood bucket and my husband did a Caesar salad with grilled salmon. my husbands grilled salmon was practically inedible. Visiting Hilton Head with my family for the first time. We decided to visit Carolina Crab Company for my Husband and Mine's anniversary. The atmosphere is really warm and the place is comfortable. The service was great as well! I ordered the Dungeness crab by mistake not realizing I always get the Alaskan when I order crab. The waitress happily traded the already served crab in a heartbeat. Their Alaskan crab is super delicious! My husband and I had such an amazing experience that we came back a second time two days later. The experience was just as amazing. I would definitely recommend this

It was great! The market price for crab is currently quite high, so the meal wasn't cheap. But their prices were reasonable, really. All of the food was good. The server was amusing, a knowledgeable and crabby but endearing older guy, we really liked him. There was a live band playing classic rock, they were pretty good. The server said they get louder as the night goes on and he finds it annoying. Just part of his charm, and I'm not being sarcastic. Had some good oysters and some excellent ones too. The crab was great, the grouper was delicious. A good experience, really made for a nice time.

This was a nice place to have dinner. I ordered the crab stuffed flounder. The sauce was great with the fish. Balsamic Reduction they call it. Service was very good. Not busy but food out was quick. It was hot and tasty. I would recommend a visit.

We had a reservation for 11 people and were seated timely. We got off to a rough start with waiting for drinks and our order to be taken. After speaking to the manager, he mentioned it was the waiters (Isaiah) first large table and they sat 3 tables on him at the same time. The waiter did a great job despite them being short staffed and handled our large table very well. We ordered a variety of food including crab cakes, fish tacos, grilled platter, hush puppies and salads. I personally had the crab cakes, and they were delicious and the pimento grit cakes were a very nice addition.

Oh my... I found myself there in the middle of the afternoon wanting a crab cake and salad. The crab cake was the most amazing crab I've ever eaten. I savored every bite. The service was great. Very attentive and aware.

Make sure you make reservations or you will Have a long wait. Alcoholic drinks are really good! Too expensive for the small portions $23 $28 and $19. The shrimp and grits were $19 and has more than the other two meals. Kids meals didn’t have enough fries however this people’s tartar sauce is amazing! The stars they got is for good flavor food and drinks and the tartar sauce plus the great service! We had to leave and go to a different restaurant to fill up.
I recommend it ir you have the $$ to spend. Also has a nice souvenir spot in front with military and law enforcement discounts FYI.

The group I was with wanted some crab legs. So we made a reservation for this place. We ended up eating outside which was nice since we had just come from the beach and were eating crab legs. The portion was big enough for one person when it came to the steam pots. My husband had the crab cakes which were delicious!

This was our 2nd year in a row coming to the Carolina Crab Co. It has now officially been added to the permanent annual food list. The serve is spectacular, even short handed the rocked!! We had oysters, peel and eat shrimp, king crab legs and scallops. We even eat the yummy key lime pie! Major food coma but so worth it!

Our Daughter picked this restaurant for our evening meal. We made reservations. When we arrived at the restaurant we could not find the hostess for a few minutes, when we did we interrupted her hanging out with her gentleman friend. The hostess couldn't find our reservations . The manger came over and found the reservation and seated us. Nice enough atmosphere our waiter was excellent, I felt bad for him because it was the worst meal/food i have had on the island. We are owners and come to Hilton Head a few times a year, it was the first and last time we will eat at Carolina

Great service (and I can't stress this enough), delicious crab, cold drinks, and savory hush puppies. What more could you want from a dinner out on vacation? We came for the crabs, I had Dungeness, my husband had the catch all steam pot with crab, lobster, mussels, and shrimp. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a good seafood boil.

The food was amazing. Definitely would recommend Jay Jay platter. The service was the best. They were so friendly.

Lively Friday night atmosphere with a live band. The 2 boils ordered were delicious and were everything you'd expect in a low country boil. Wait staff was attentive and had minimal wait for a table however we did make reservations. Would come back!

Honestly, the food was great. I got the Dungeness crab lowcountry boil, and my wife got the shrimp version. They were delicious! They are prepared with a seasoning that is similar to Old Bay, but with more flavor and kick. The crab cake and she crab soup were very tasty appetizers.
So the food gets 5 stars. The reason my overall rating is lower is because of the restaurant setting and ambiance. There are actually three establishments that practically share the same space under a covered outdoor space. One of those is a bar that allows (encourages?) smoking, which was only a few feet from our table

The food and and atmosphere were perfect for our girls getaway! It is a short drive from Coligny Plaza . We had reservations and were seated as soon as we arrived! The service was good, the food was great and the scenery was beautiful.
If you're in the area and in search of a delicious meal I recommend Carolina Crab Co.

We were recommended this place by our concierge at our hotel. I would say pretty fairly that this is the typical touristy-type of restaurant that attracts a lot of people, but doesn't have substance to offer...follow me?
Allow me to explain. There is a lot of hype around this place. Right next door is a store where you're able to buy a lot of "Hilton Head" apparel. We came here to eat a crab pot. When we ordered, the waiters description of the featured dish held my attention and I ordered that instead as well as a side of the she-crab soup since the reviews say it's wonderful
