Tucked away in Plantation Center, just outside the main entrance to Palmetto Dunes Resort, this hidden gem is no longer a secret. With a Lowcountry beach house theme, the atmosphere is vacation casual with a touch of elegance, perfect for a family outing, romantic dinner, a get-together with friends or a special event. In business for over 16 years, owners, Kathy and Chef Chad, are always on hand to roll out the welcome mat and make sure that you have the best dining experience on Hilton Head.

If there's a place that everything is perfect Sea Grass is it... drinks apps: shrimp, tomato pie, wild mushroom turnover, all great.
Big eyed tuna was superb (mustard sauce to die for), grilled mahi mahi was excellent(awesome glaze topping again) , veal scalloppini nice mushroom sauce(bland next to the two above), every dessert, better than the other creme brulee, chocolate pate, banana foster, and baked Alaska, yes we had them all, need I say more? Okay ask for Elizabeth to serve you, she is pleasant, knowledgeable, quick, so there you have it. A must go to!

One of the best dining experiences I have had in a very long time. The service and atmosphere were warm and inviting. The meal was plated beautifully and was equally as flavorful. I have food allergies and they were very accommodating and not judgmental. Staff was knowledgeable of what could be made Gluten Free and Dairy Free. I recommend the duck and finishing with the mango sorbet.

My wife and I stopped by here on our honeymoon five years ago. We wanted to sort of relive our honeymoon once again but this time with both of our kids. After reading some of these reviews I got kind of nervous bout being my nearly 3 and 1 year old to a place like this. However, we still did and the staff was more than accommodating and understanding of our kids. The entire team that we interacted with had great customer service and very friendly to us and our children.
That’s just the staff. The food on the other hand was on a different level. When we came here 5 years ago they were still doing

This food was good, and the service was exceptional. The bread was very good and very fresh. The grouper piccata tasted as a good grouper piccata should, nothing sensational. The cobia was cooked well, but not creative. The vegetables served; carrots and broccoli was steamed perfectly, but plain. This restaurant is made by the attentiveness of the staff and attention to detail. Your water glass will always be full. This contributed to the overall satisfaction of this restaurant as a whole. The atmosphere is rather dull and basic. You will get exceptional service and food that is cooked well, but

Had an amazing meal at Sea Grass Grille. Red Snapper piccata was delicious as was the Filet Mignon with gorgonzola butter. They don't just throw in vegetables they are cooked to perfection and delicious. Their Italian bread and cheddar biscuits ate wonderful as well. I highly recommend this restaurant. It's small so make a reservation. Service was exceptional.

This was our 5th night of "fine dining" on HH and by far the best! The food, atmosphere & service were exceptional. My husband had halibut piccata (grouper was unfortunately unavailable .. boo boo!) and I had veal scallopini. Both were excellent, along with lovely presentations & accompaniments. My veal was close to fork-tender. He enjoyed she crab soup and we also had Caesar salads, just the right amount of garlic and Parmesan. We splurged on dessert ... was it called Soggy Cake? .. similar to tiramisu and decadently light and fluffy. The service was attentive without

This is a solid neighborhood spot that seems to be favored by locals more than tourists. They were able to get us in on a busy evening when we could not get a table at another restaurant and were quite friendly about it.
Try any of the seafood options, which all seem to be a safe bet. The salmon was surprisingly good despite not being a local fish.
Service was friendly and attentive! Most of the staff seems to have worked here for quite some time.

Went there for the first time for our anniversary and it certainly won't be the last time. The food and service were excellent. I had the grouper piccata and my husband had the duck. The fish was cooked to absolute perfection and my husband enjoyed the duck so much he tried to get every last drop of the sauce on it!, Our waitress, Elizabeth, was personable and very helpful and attentive. The owners were so sweet and thoughtful. Even sent over glasses of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. Will definitely be back !!!

Absolutely outstanding. The Seagrass Grill is on the higher price end but well worth it. Seafood, soups and salads are prepared to perfection (note:and they also serve non seafood entrees). The waitstaff is attentive and efficient but not stuffy. Loved the atmosphere. Everyone at our table raved about their food. Try the daily specials you can't go wrong.

My wife and I visited for our 49th anniversary dinner. The hostess was wonderfully friendly and the waitress less so but very professional. We would have liked to have seen her smile. My wife had the vichyssoise a I tried to Carolina tomato pie. My wife said it was the best vichyssoise she ever had. My Carolina pie was nothing more than a slice of pizza but oh! what a slice it was. Top notch ingredients and a terrific taste. We each ordered the shrimp scampi off the appetizer menu for our dinner, They have a choice of small or large and we each got the large. All of the accompaniments

We spend at least 3 weeks on the island each year and dined at Sea Grass Grill for the 1st time. They made a fantastic Manhattan and martini which always sets the stage for a great meal. My daughter ordered the salmon and she said it was delicious along with the scallop potatoes. My wife ordered the special African Pompano which was excellent. I got the filet with the Gorgonzola butter and it was perfectly cooked and the seasoning and char were spot on.
I would highly recommend this restaurant also it is the 1st week opened due to Covid and all staff wore masks and gloves and I personally

Best filet mignon on HHI! Wanting to treat my family to a "fine dining" dinner to break up our routine during the second week of COVID social distancing, and support local business, I chose Sea Grass Grille. Centrally located mid-Island near Palmetto Dunes, co-owner Kathy was helpful in steering me toward the best temperature for the steaks and how to reheat the tomato pie. (This pie is amazing!) My teenage son devoured his dinner saying how good it was between bites, my young adult daughter home from college ate the salmon with a smile. My husband happily enjoyed a moment away from cooking

This place is amazing! Don't even think about it just go and eat here you won't be disappointed. The service is so genuine and makes you so comfortable and happy. This place will definitely will be a new spot for me.
I had the lamb and it was cooked perfectly and my fiance got the swordfish with Chipotle sauce (not spicy but creamy and savory). We had deserts too I got the soggy cake and oh how satisfying it it was!
Also I was especially pleased that the mixed vegetables that come with the dinners are not that gross frozen mixture I always dread but they were fresh, roasted and delicious.

Wonderful service and seated promptly and food was good but not great. A bit pricey for the quality of food ... granted my wife had some discount to lessen the impact but without that, well the food prices are not justified.
Ambiance was warm and friendly but with all the restaurants on HHI with great views, open atmosphere and a nice bars, there are just better choices.

While I will say that the food at Sea Grass is undeniably good, the restaurant lacks a single thing to make it stand out from the crowd. If you're on the hunt for typical low-country fare, Sea Grass will suffice. But if you're looking for a memorable dining experience you won't forget...go elsewhere.

Want a nice dinner out with the fam? This is the place to go. Make sure to break out the polo shirts for a nice place like this!
Food was good. We got complementary bread, biscuits and salads with our meals. I decided to get the duck, which was not my favorite (but this is probably due to my inexperience with eating duck and not how it was prepared. The waitress was super sweet and gave me a free salad and charged half price for my meal.
What really impressed me was Baked Alaska. Loved the warm/cold contrast!
The service here was beyond excellent and for that Sea Grass is getting 4 stars.
