Services
Scheduled and performed by a licensed and experienced hearing healthcare professional. These evaluations may be covered by insurance, but discuss with your provider to learn more. At the hearing aid fitting, you will receive the hearing aids you selected. They are programmed based on a prescription that is specific to each person's hearing loss.
The first appointment will last one hour. This includes the time for the hearing evaluation. If during the first appointment you decide to trial a set of hearing aids expect the appointment to last longer. There are a few ways to test yourself to see if you have difficulty hearing. By paying attention to your daily life, you can determine if you are experiencing a hearing loss.
If you have booked an appointment with our staff for your first appointment, please feel free to print the forms below and bring them with you on the day of your appointment. If you have made an appointment for one week in advance we can mail you our forms by request. By completing this paperwork at home, it will help save time before your appointment.
If you have been referred for a diagnostic audiologic evaluation, it means that your hearing needs to be further examined. A diagnostic audiologic evaluation may be indicated for individuals who did not pass an initial hearing screening. The evaluation is done to determine if a hearing loss is present and, if so, to detail the type and severity of the hearing loss.
There are several steps that are part of a hearing aid evaluation. If you suspect that you might need a hearing aid, you will first need to have a hearing evaluation. At the time of the hearing evaluation, a case history will be taken to determine how much your hearing problem impacts your day-to-day life as well as the lives of your family.

I've used this practice for 25 years. I have severe hearing loss and Dr. Stern-Weisman is a well known Doctor of audiology is Chicago. They carry all the brands of hearing aids and they let me try different brands at no charge for at least two weeks. Never any pressure . When a new model comes out they call me and give me a chance to try it, they provide minor repairs and adjustments at no charge. They carry all the accessories to help one hear better. I purchased a relatively inexpensive accessory that streams my TV audio right to my hearing aids. I'm not a relative of theirs -just a satisfied

If you are looking for an audiologist and came across Dr. Stern-Weisman, stop your search because you won't find anyone better. Dr. Stern-Weisman completely changed my uncle's quality of life with new hearing aids. She was attentive, thorough, and genuinely caring throughout the entire process. The office staff (Sherwin and Cindy) were additionally important in the process and provided a truly outstanding customer experience. Thank you for what you do and for taking such good care of my uncle.

I have been wearing hearing aids and been going to audiologists my entire life but never have I experienced such bad service as I did here. This audiologist charged my insurance for hearing aids and I never received them. This place is commiting INSURANCE FRAUD and getting away with it. Please be careful when considering their services.

I have been going to North Suburban Hearing in Niles for over 15 years. They are friendly, very helpful, and speak to me in such a way that I can easily understand exactly what is happening with my hearing aid. In other words, they don't talk like snooty people, but rather like pleasant people who really want you to have the best hearing service possible. They're terrific. (When I got into a jam recently with my aid on a trip, they swooped in and were able to fix the problem and had it sent back to me the next day!)

I have used hearing aids for over 40 years and have been a beta tester for two manufacturers. In addition, I am a respected product design engineer who is aware of much of the technology of sound amplification. I have met no one in those 40 years who is as expert and thorough as Mrs. Phyllis Stern-Weisman. Her ability is matched with the most unassuming and caring attitude you could find in such an expert.
