Boulder Opera
Founded in 2012 by Artistic Director/Executive Director Dianela Acosta, the Boulder Opera is immersed in its ninth season with a fresh, vibrant approach to the ancient art of Opera. With the intention of developing new audiences, Boulder Opera's operatic interpretations are modern, eclectic and fun!

Boulder Opera is committed to making Opera accessible by producing two Operas per season that will be chosen from the standard repertoire as well as the lesser known; and to offer opportunities to local professional artists. The Company is funded mainly by donation, and we're grateful to our generous patrons for helping us keep this art from becoming lost in our community.
Services
Boulder Opera revives their recent fairy tale operas Puss in Boots, Gato con Botas, and Little Red Riding Hood for young audiences with pre-recorded virtual performances by the original casts to be enjoyed in your own living room!. Xavier Montsalvatge's take on the classic story of an ingenious and quick-witted feline with magical talents is sure to entertain the whole family.
2021 marks our 10th season and anniversary! We look forward to performing for our beloved audience after a difficult year with some of the best programming we have planned so far. We cannot do it without your support: we rely on our patrons and community supporters to present our productions each year.
Develop or sharpen your talent with instruction and guidance from professional Boulder Opera singers and musicians. Dianela is a classically trained singer and the Founder and Executive Director of Boulder Opera. She has performed extensively in New York, and especially enjoyed being part of children's operas with The Amato Opera and the Dicapo Opera where she sang in La Cenerentola, Carmen, Madame Butterfly, and The Magic Flute.
After a successful 2020 program, four Colorado resident singers will join us for our 10th Season & Anniversary in many different concerts and performing roles in our fully staged opera productions. The artists will also receive coachings and master classes as part of the program to help develop their careers.
Boulder Opera is a local nonprofit, dedicated to making Opera accessible to audiences of all ages and to creating opportunities for local Opera singers. Ticket sales cover only a small percentage of Boulder Opera's annual operating budget. The balance must be raised from contributed sources: grants, sponsorships and gifts from people like you.
