No longer a fan of this bank; for the average every day person, FEES FEES FEES FEES. I can’t stress enough how DANGEROUS THIS BANK IS TO YOUR CREDIT. Been banking here for a while, and learned quickly never to use their credit card ever again unless it’s a DIRE EMERGENCY (as in you depleted your rainy day funds and have NO OTHER OPTION). Additionally, they charge you fees for darn near everything, it’s a wonder they don’t charge you a fee for getting your balance. This bank use to be a good bank, but it has changed for the worst. I deposited two checks at the beginning of the week and one was to pay off a loan and the other was to put in the bank. I was told to call back on Thursday and they would probably take the hold off the check that I deposited. I called Thursday and spoke with a lady who told me the hold would come off yesterday after 4:00, so when I got home I checked and the hold was not taken off (The checks were from the same bank and company, but they did not put a hold on the check that was paying off the loan). Edited to add a second Terrible experience today, 10/1/21. I wanted a payroll check cleared today, their policy allows that for a payroll check. This "woman" that answered first told me she didn't think that could be done, then put me on hold for 5 minutes to supposedly talk to her manager, only to come back and tell me it will be clear at 4:30pm.
guess what, it's 5:30 and the check is not clear because she didn't do her job. Terrible customer service today. I called once and was told to call back, like, who does that? And so I called back and got more terrible service. I could hear her huff and

Always like a small hometown bank. The folks are great, rates are great, and Credit Union facility is clean, modern, and well lit.

Wonderful customer service. Great rates, the best, that I’ve I ever received on a car loan & credit card. They are the best, hands down…..Trust, in the past, I had a Navy federal credit card & car loan. & Atlantic Federal Financial Credit Union. APL FCU, I give this credit union 20 stars.

Recently called to speak with a staff member on some questions I had about their services and I was extremely satisfied with my conversation with Denise. She was amazing, seemed very knowledgeable, and helped me talk through my situation. Really appreciated the customer service.

Great car loan rate, but everything else is terrible. Ease of making payments, customer service, etc. This place is difficult to deal with. I think paying more interest to a regular bank is worth the money. Hindsight. I have not been able to set up auto pay on anything. I was instructed to deposit monies into my account to make it easier. I go to the branch and the branch is closed. I call, they tell me no problem go through the drive thru. They will not take my cap one debit card to fund the account. A real inconvenient nightmare. Not worth the savings.

Amazing low rates! Extremely exceptional service and knowledgeable reps. The app is easy to use. During this pandemic, it’s must have. I can easily deposit my checks.

I am fairly disappointed in APL Federal credit unions staff. I have seen employees at the Columbia branch goofing around, gossiping when they had a chance to work. The type of employee who works here is very similar to any employee at call centers. They don't know much, have very little trouble lying to customers, and show very little empathy when there is an issue. Their managers are fairly similar and will usually speak in jargon, a total red flag for toxic employees. This has become common in todays retail world. Most of the employees are very rude, unprofessional, and do not deserve to work

I can't take credit away for their loan rates (one extra star for that). Their rates are competitive. I first started banking with this bank was back in 2015 for my car and second mortgage loan since they had good interest rates.
