Ohio Academy Of Family Physicians
The Ohio Academy of Family Physicians is a statewide professional association with 5,200 members, including practicing family physicians, family medicine residents, and medical students. Since 1948, the OAFP has represented the professional interests of Ohio family physicians, provided postgraduate medical education, and encouraged medical students to enter this field and to advance the patient-physician relationship.

The OAFP is one of the largest, most active chapters of the American Academy of Family Physicians. The mission of the OAFP is to improve the health of patients by advocating for and advancing the specialty of family medicine and providing valuable solutions to the diverse needs of members. Services
Human Milk Oligosaccharides (HMOs) are unique prebiotics (indigestible carbohydrates) found in breast milk that promote beneficial microbial growth in the intestines. One of the most abundant HMOs, 2'-fucosyllactose which helps support digestive health, the immune system, and brain development, is now supplemented in infant formula.
Lauren is a 2019 graduate from Otterbein University with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and Health Communications with a minor in Dance. The Family Medicine Workshop examines a broad spectrum of topics and concerns of clinical interest and relevance to primary care physicians. Each two-day weekend course will provide plenty of time for case discussion and interaction with the faculty.

The objective is to provide information on diagnostic techniques, advanced technical theory, current research, problem solving methods, and management techniques within the core content areas of family medicine.Designed to maximize both continuing medical education (CME) and weekend family time, attendees will hear four 2.5 hour presentations per weekend and earn approximately 20 CME credits over both weekends.
Implicit bias has been demonstrated as pervasive among all health care providers and as having deleterious effects on patient health. However, formal medical education and training curriculum is often void of content that provides a framework for identifying and mitigating implicit biases in clinical practice.
The Chief Resident Workshop is one of the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians (OAFP) most highly regarded programs. Through this specialized training, incoming chief residents will be equipped with the leadership tools needed to have a successful academic year. The program also establishes an OAFP Chief Resident Network so participants can open a peer dialogue to optimize discussion and serve as a touchstone the whole year through.
